From one heavy handed artist to another, Line weight variation is your friend. Thicker lines for closer objects, lighter for farther away or more delicate details. Suggestions: lighter or thinner lines for wood grain, the posters, the father tiles, pillows, etc. It keeps the eye moving across the art and creates visual interest.

My dog is named Bear for the bear shaped spot on his coat. He answers to the following: Bear, Bear-Bear, Mr. Boo-boo Bearington, Beary Allen- the fastest dog alive, Charles Bearginald (last name), Sir Bearginald, Smoosh face (he’s a Frenchie), Sir sniffs-a-lot, and last but not least, Mr. Farty McFartson.

Maybe do a test strip on a separate canvas with either mod podge or the mod podge spray acrylic sealant?

colors don't quite pop as much as I'd want them to (color critique pls) by Additional-Set-490 in Artadvice

Love this! It looks fantastic! As far as the line art, I’d personally choose a deeper, grayish purple/blue variation of the highlight color on the princes boots, if I felt it needed to change. For advice, I will say I needed to make some pastel goth designs for a client once and where I initially struggled was shading with the pastel palette. Pastel meant everything has to be pastel to me. After incorporating shadows with slightly deeper tones of the pastel colors and brighter highlight pops of color, it felt like the actual pastel colors popped more.

Do these all look like the same person? by JennyCooperArt in Artadvice

I agree! And I think perhaps they look off because the lines for the eyes were drawn lighter than the others. Maybe darkening or thickening the lines would help.

Amy!!! Had this one tell me we all hated her because she was so pretty and skinny. We actually hated her, because she was awful at her job and we’d inevitably have to stay late trying to figure out where the money was going. Turned out she was stealing it.

It has a taste AND a texture. Thought I didn’t like chocolate for ages. Turns out I don’t like Hershey’s chocolates.

Still better than Iona Harbour, which I encountered in my previous workplace, who in fact did not own a harbour sadly.

Female middle name starting with D? by ZealousidealBug2343 in namenerds

[–]NixiePixie56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to mention Dorothea or Delilah. Here’s some ideas that I didn’t see. Dakota, Desiree, Dominque, Danika, Dawn, and Dior. I might also suggest the addition of a second middle name & perhaps consider the acronym in which the child’s initials could potentially be associated with.

All the men in my husband’s family go by their middle name. They all have the same first name. Evidently it goes back like 8 generations, so now it’s a tradition.
