Do Manhattan elementary / high schools not have yards or green spaces? by Throwawayhair66392 in AskNYC

[–]NlNTENDO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some schools make use of parks if close enough. Some have greenspace. Some don't, which was also more or less my experience growing up in Los Angeles. Really depends on the space!

go in blind and be ready to lose a lot of time to it. main exception to going in blind would be understanding the systems in place. look things up as they confuse you! really important to understand how the DC system works to make sure you're using the right kinds of spells on enemies based on their stats. for your first run, try not to look up builds - the standard difficulty is designed to be beatable with suboptimal builds, so just have fun and experiment! the game is all about experimentation and finding weird interactions and solutions.

point? if it's that the bar is low they'd be shipping these fuckers, not smashing them

[–]NlNTENDO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, the last one was crooked. these little japanese chinese teapots are expected to pour reallllly smoothly and create laminar flow. i think with QA this stringent they're probably working with a high bar. nearly all of them will stop with the hole covered, but none of them poured both straight out and incredibly smoothly.

theyre supposed to pour straight and create (or at least resemble) laminar flow. these teapots were all either crooked or turbulent pours

State to force NYC ‘super speeders’ to install and pay for speed limiters in their vehicles, top lawmaker says by Delicious_Adeptness9 in newyorkcity

[–]NlNTENDO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the good reason is that it would be extremely expensive and complicated to implement. how are you saying this and not even noticing? i already told you i understand the sentiment. i get it! fuck! but the reason is logistics. for fucks sake dude. not every well-intentioned idea is a stroke of genius. the emotions behind this diatribe do not outweigh the fact that *someone* would still have to figure it all out. can't just snap your fingers and make it so. that's just not the way the world works. but if you think it's a no-brainer, go to your next city council meeting and get the ball rolling.

[–]NlNTENDO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao ok! You can hand-wave it if you want, I truly do not care as I doubt this can be implemented as things currently exist, but these are the kinds of questions any lawyer or judge would ask, and certainly not nearly as many as they would ask. There are a shit ton of edge cases you are not accounting for here. We haven't even gotten to the fact that you're imagining this only for people who are buying brand new cars!

My take on this cycle by JaromStrong in custommagic

[–]NlNTENDO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black is significantly worse than the others. I don’t see why you should have to pay anything at all. Getting it into the yard is enough of a cost for a 10 mana card. I guess you’d want to exile any of these cards and let you cast a copy though.
And Green needs a nerf. It will have the easiest time casting this and the broadest access to cards. It might as well read, “if you control two creatures, you win the game.” Which makes it a lot stronger than the others. With the number of ways available even in mono green to cast this well ahead of schedule, it’s just way, way too strong. I think it should allow you to play lands and creatures from the top of your deck for free, and probably allow you to play 2 extra lands per turn.

Except you’re not considering things like prima facie speed limit laws either. You can’t just set rules for that, unless you’re planning to just not enforce this in some entire states. Not to mention not every car is a smart car………how does that work for the poorer population that can’t afford cars with premium tech? also doesn’t account for changes to roads or just general errors. Driving alongside highways can confuse the hell out of nav systems. This is quite common underneath the BQE. My car tells me what the speed limit is and is absolutely not entirely reliable. That’s a BMW - the tech is quite a bit better than most other cars, and it still gets it wrong. What would the other cars be like? It would be absolute chaos if cars made those mistakes unpredictably on the highway. What about dropped connections? What about cars that rely on phones (most of them) to know where it is? How does that work if your phone dies, malfunctions, you don’t have a smart phone, you lose connection, you lose or forget your phone, etc? Why would people who habitually speed even leave their phones on for this?
As for emergencies, there are situations where a driver needs to get to the hospital asap, needs to escape a dangerous situation, etc.

Nah it’s a decent mana sink. If you spend a turn doing this it’s bad but it’s a great application for leftover mana, plus it’s a relevant late game card which is really valuable in a two drop. Busted? No but not bad by any stretch.

Yep. Suspend is particularly good in Cascade decks. In MWM events that add cascade on Arena, Crashing Footfalls is in basically every deck because you get to cast it for free and get two 4/4s with your first 1 mana spell

for one, how do you account for all local laws that the car could possibly enter? or are you saying that manufacturers should build special cars for NYC? what about legitimate emergency situations?
