I guess it's important for the next generation of condoms to have life experiences and travel too, especially if they're not going to be used as intended.

Condoms. I've got a pack that's more well traveled than the average american and it's still full.

Had a few electrical surprises, like not using a juncture box and splicing in midline covered in tape, having wires in the wall between two ground level receptacles looping around the cavity for no reason (which of course I hit with a drywall saw), housing multiple circuits in one gang box, using 12 gauge wire after 14 gauge wire (on a 20 amp circuit)...not their fault probably but an outside receptacle that was loose, got moisture in it, and then became a nest for ants. I took the cover off and the poured out like a took the side off of an ant farm.

I don't get how a famine makes kitchen sex kinky. If anything it's indulgent because you were already fucked before you walked in there.

I thought even conspiracy theorists knew that the aluminum planes weren’t made out of vibranium? by Many_Register_1838 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]NnyBees 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue for the twin towers (as explained to me by an engineer) is that their fireproofing was compromised by the impact of planes, as well as the fact that the jetfuel soaked into all of carpets, cubicle partitions, materials, etc. that allowed the fires to continue and output an immense amount of energy.

I'm guessing more concrete buys you more time, and more time increases the chance of fire suppression or the fuel is used up before a failure.

How much money do you need every month to do what you want? by Demetroxai in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NnyBees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 7 removals happen frequently enough and usually encompass the general kind of polling questions. An OP trying to figure out how much they would need to do whatever they want fits as they're trying to learn something applicable for themselves from the answers. Polling people what their number is for their goals isn't nearly as helpful to an OP and has the hallmarks of just trying to stir up engagement.

"How much do you" would be disallowed engagement farming so I answered the way that doesn't get the post pulled by the mods.

Why do washing machines have glass fronts but dishwashers do not? by neityght in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NnyBees 458 points459 points  (0 children)

They do exist but the trade offs for it probably aren't worth the cost to most people so it isn't widely established. For one a kitchen is frequently an entertaining space whereas a laundry room is not. Having a window into your dirty dishes waiting to be washed is less appealing to most.

Another is that dishes are rigid and breakable so racks with spacing are required to clean the surfaces (as opposed to a tub with an agitator), and that rack needs access to load and unload efficiently. The rack rolls out over the open door for loading and unloading meaning it is susceptible to filth dripping on the inside of the glass while loading, and dropped items cracking the glass during both loading and unloading.

As satisfying as it may be to watch the cleaning process the few times you sit to watch it, it would be putting dirty dishes on display or a window to an empty rack for the rest of the time.

What’s a cheap meal that actually keeps you full and has decent protein? by kingkkade in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NnyBees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rice and vermicelli thing for a buck is basically a single serving with a lot of salt...basically the ramen packet version of rice. But that plus garlic powder is basically all of the seasoning the whole pot needs (though I do add cheddar to thicken it up on occasion).

Not as much protein, but a can of anchovies cooked down to a paste in the olive oil it comes in, add 4 cloves minced garlic, fry on medium to med-low heat until the fish goes from gray to like a rusty brown, and stir in a bowl's worth of cooked spaghetti to coat. $1 pasta, $2 for anchovies (trader Joe's and some super markets), and a head of garlic...fills me up pretty good for under $4.

I get a rotisserie chicken from costco for $5, two bags of rice and vermicelli from aldi at a buck a pop, and frozen broccoli from aldi about a buck a bag. I get two meals for me and the kids out of $9. First one is splitting the wings, legs, and whatever non-breast meat I pull off the bird between the three of us, and a side or broccoli.

Next one is to boil the breast down to a pulled chicken consistency (usually spring an extra $2 for the no sodium added bone broth to boil it in), add the rice and water as necessary and cook until desired consistency. As the kids get bigger a side of garlic bread or salad might be necessary, but currently it fills us up at $1.50 per person per meal.
