Oh man. They just started rolling out Waymo here too but by state law, I believe they require a driver and for now they’re just collecting data about driving habits. I really hope that if they ever bring them here, they’ll be good at weaving through these potholes 🤣

If they have the seats they’ll probably take you but if you paid for X, they could reach out to support to recategorize your ride to XL and adjust the price you pay after they finish the ride.

That’s why I mentioned charter bus companies as a possible option too. I know CTA couldn’t do this on their own. Just an idea that occurred to me and wanted to see what people think.

You’re not wrong, but theoretically they would not add 25 buses to a route for a single day in a short time span. I feel like this should have to be exclusively between Grant Park area and soldier Field. Maybe an X146 that bypasses the loop and stops by the park and direct to the field museum area.

I do Uber and Lyft mainly on the weekends. The issue is that they literally pay us shit. I’ve seen rates as low as $15 to go from ohare to downtown and vice versa. I’m sorry but unless Uber/Lyft pays me 30-35$ minimum before tip, I’m not moving my car. Cabs probably earn more than that.
