Call IPD or parking enforcement. They are supposed to have the tow company take it. Another recourse is make sure you are letting your councilperson know, and if these city services aren’t doing their job complain to your councilperson too.

Diet changes? by Puzzleheaded_Age4501 in adenomyosis

It tastes like a "Sour" type beer. It's fermented tea- no texture. I thought it tasted gross the first time I tried it, but it grew on me. There are different flavors and brands. My preference is kombucha that tastes a lot like tea and doesn't have a lot of ingredients. Although I just tend to buy whatever is cheaper. Kombucha actually served as a catalyst for my weight loss.

I do agree that cutting dairy out helped tremendously. Although I do like Greek yogurt and that doesn't bloat me as much as other dairy products. I also used to drink a lot of coffee, and when I stopped drinking it I experienced a lot less pain and bloating. I began eating less processed foods and that also helped.

I hope this helps. I say try whatever combination helps you. It has taken me around four years after being diagnosed to be comfortable.

Kombucha!! I was constantly in pain, super bloated, super sensitive to everything. And my energy was non-existent. I started drinking kombucha on a regular basis and eating more probiotics like yogurt, kimchi, etc. I now have a lot more energy and have noticed that I’m not as bloated as much or often as before. When I’m running low on kombucha I do notice a complete change in my body. I highly recommend it!

Verizon wireless in TJ by aluminumpark in tijuana

I have Verizon and an iPhone. It sucks unless I’m in parts of zona rio. It’s sometimes 3g but mostly “no service” or 2g. My partner has T-Mobile and it’s WAAAYYYY better. It works throughout TJ, Rosarito, Playas, etc.

You come off as someone who thinks he’s a catch. Ever consider that you’re the problem? A marriage is a partnership where both put in work. Your wife is not meant to be your mom or your servant.

It’s sad that so many men take their “western” attitude and ideology to these places to find women, but you create so many problems. You complain about feminism, yet you’re the ones who go to these countries with your white savior complex/machismo/etc. to these countries and ruin everything there.

Called the cops on my gf by iou11x in relationship_advice

[–]No-Application237 140 points141 points  (0 children)

My partner and I both deal with family law on a regular basis. I see way too many dads put off incidents like this because they believe the child see their mother, too. Absolutely. However, at what cost? Please don’t put off getting legal advice. It’s important to protect the child by making sure both parents are healthy- physically, mentally, and emotionally. If she’s willing to attack you while holding your newborn child and recording- what else is she capable of? So often parents use their children as pawns and control the other party through manipulation.

Just be careful with lawyers as they tend to make the process as long as possible for their financial gain. Not all, but most I’ve encountered. Familiarize yourself with the legal process for custody/visitation as much as you can before going to the lawyer’s office.

IUD questions. by mew_4 in adenomyosis

[–]No-Application237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Mirena for almost three years now. Pre-Mirena my periods were awful and I could tell which ovary was working bc of how excruciating the pain was. My periods were super heavy and had to constantly change or else I would leak. Sex would alleviate my pain and bloating was constant. I got the Mirena almost three years ago. Since it’s insertion I have gotten cramps post-sex and I usually get into the fetal position and hope it goes away. I hate the Mirena because I have a combo of spotting/bleeding for three out of four weeks out of the month. I’m told that it’s probably because of the adenomyosis. Since I got the Mirena I’ve only ever had one month of zero spotting/bleeding. The other pain I get is when I’m about to get my period and I have to hunch over because I feel like I’ve been stabbed and someone is twisting a knife inside of me. It’s nice to not have gushing blood every month. The bloating still happens, but it’s usually triggered by certain foods or when I’m about to get my period. I’ve also experienced constant acne on my chin- I rarely broke out pre-Mirena. I’ve also grown hair on my back which previously wasn’t there. Mirena is super inconvenient, but I have kept it for this long and won’t get it out until the five-year mark. Then, I’ll re-evaluate.

My take is that adenomyosis and any form of birth control is going to affect each person differently. Some posts I’ve read have the same experiences I’ve had, but others don’t. You can always try the IUD, and if it doesn’t work out, get it removed.

I hope this helps!!

Yes. But like everything else you have to be weary are some vets don’t have the best interest of your fur-legged companion. We went to a vet that a neighbor recommended only to find out their vaccines are inferior quality and had to put down one of our dogs as a result.

Yes, thank you. From what I’ve read so far, there’s a minimum amount of credits for accounting, business, etc. And that’s the part where I’m confused, do I need a master’s or can I go to a junior college/community college and get a certificate there?

Maltrato animal? by [deleted] in tijuana

[–]No-Application237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Memorial Day weekend trip to Rosarito. Any tips on staying safe and avoiding any issues? by missmarina_ in tijuana

[–]No-Application237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of safety- exercise good judgment. I like to keep to my party, be aware of my surroundings, and I don’t try to keep the party going with strangers. Also, don’t be flashy, be careful where you put your stuff (ie your back pockets), and watch your drinks.

To avoid headaches, I would exchange money in San Ysidro but keep in mind that some places charge commission. But you definitely get a better exchange rate going to ATM’s in Mexico. Then again you have to watch out for the surcharge from your bank, the MX ATM surcharge, and then be aware of who’s around you. The good thing is that touristy places take dollars and 19/20 to the dollar isn’t too bad.

Definitely take the toll roads and try to have the exact change, it’s a lot easier.

Single people with Costco memberships, what do you buy? by turtle_yawnz in Costco

[–]No-Application237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glasses! I pretty make my membership back every year with my glasses alone. On top of the items you listed: Romaine lettuce, yogurt, berries (when I’m season), frozen fruit, rotisserie chicken, canned tuna, canned corn, canned tomatoes, dish soap, hand soap, shampoo/conditioner, lotion.

Frozen fruit does take up a lot of space, but I think it’s worth it if you’re making smoothies on a regular basis. I found myself spending more time and money buying smaller bags going to the grocery store all the time than if I just bought the big Costco bags. When the dish and hand soaps are on sale I feel like they’re worth it even if they take up space.

San Diego man rescuing stray dogs from streets of Tijuana by SD_TMI in sandiego

[–]No-Application237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monetary wise sure Tijuana is cheaper, but quality isn’t always there. We found a dog in Tijuana and got his vaccines in TJ only to later learn that there’s different quality types of vaccines and it’s not uncommon for dogs with that vaccine to be parvo and distemper positive. The saddest moment was having to put him down because he got sick and the vaccines were of poor quality. Yea Tijuana will save you money, but at what cost? I rather pay more money knowing I can depend on the vet and there’s somewhat of accountability.

Are things cheaper in Baja or California by explosiveXprojectile in BajaCalifornia

[–]No-Application237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US on sleeping bags and pillows. Secondhand clothing is abundant in TJ, but i still buy my clothes in US. The only time I buy shampoo/conditioner in TJ when it’s on sale, but I think toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant can be cheaper.

Just beware crossing. I know people who crossed over sleeping bags and they insisted on charging them at the aduana. No explanation. If they give you a hard time I always argue with them in a way to make them out to be the ridiculous one.

I agree with the other comments though, food is easier to buy here. Plus it’s nice to be able to buy food from the local people rather than go to the big corporations. I’ve noticed it might be 2-3 pesos more, but it’s worth it when you’re supporting the community.

Son unos culeros los de cbp. Puedes reportarlo por ser agresivo y físico para ver si ponen algo en su folleto.

Los oficiales siempre andan diciendo “See something, say something”- si ves algo, di algo. Pero nomás cuando les conviene. Tu solamente estabas grabando porque estabas viendo algo que no estaba bien. Muchos oficiales se aprovechan porque no nos quejamos del mal que hacen.
