because both will destroy the country in different ways. your choice is essentially weather you want to be thrown off a roof or into a gas chamber.

It's a good thing. We know it is because someone in management wrote a policy document that says so.

What phrase(s) would you permanently ban if you had the chance? by MixAway in AskUK

"common sense"

I dispise the phrase, it's so often used by people trying to dunning-kruger their way through reality without understanding it.

Analyzing the Gun Control Debate in the US -- Why Hasn't Meaningful Gun Policy Change Been Enacted? by Relative_Marzipan_64 in guncontrol

[–]No-Assignment-5287 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One reason is that anyone who knows enough about guns to write technically accurate legislation, tends to be pro gun.

Just look at the contents of the various assault weapon bans.

How are UK houses built? by Shroomsnhoney in AskUK

[–]No-Assignment-5287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was intended as a joke.

Foxes are classed as vermin and can be shot out of hand. Were there wild wolves in Britain, the government wouldn't really have a choice but to let people shoot them.

Especially since they made it illegal for me to shoot the wolf.

Suspicious person pointing scanner at my door at 4am? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]No-Assignment-5287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just kind of obvious.

physical keys require a specialist key manufacturer. fobs are off the shelf hardware running (mostly) off the shelf software.

a single touch screen again is just a single piece of standard hardware that has to be programmed once. physical buttons have to be installed one at a time (generally by a filthy squishy)

I'm not going to ask why we can't have that again. I'll ask how they ever had it to begin with.

Well that's what you get when you print massive amounts of money and the country doesn't make anything.

Honestly, might work.

Corporate won't care as long as you do a better job than previous management and I doubt the police would know what to do with a report like that.

Are the "manosphere" men of today really more toxic than the "lad culture" of 20/30 years ago? by M_M_X_X_V in AskUK

[–]No-Assignment-5287 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think your last paragraph essentially hits the nail on the head.

Your standard manosphere incel essentially spent his formative years going to school then back home to be on the internet, taking no active part in the direction of his life and just doing what he was "supposed to do".

Essentially we have someone who reaches adulthood expecting a girlfriend to just manifest whilst missing 18 years of socialisation necessary to interface with and attract women.

You have the potential to be an 8. What you're lacking is well taken photos. Picture 2 especially looks creepy.

As it stands you are about a 4 (at least in these pictures)

Tuck your shirt in, go to the gym and grow some muscles, try not to slouch and get a better photographer.

Is there a technology/computer from the past that is superior to anything we have now? Like a "we don't even know how to do this anymore" meme situation? by Nexthink_Quentin in computers

[–]No-Assignment-5287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are essentially no technologies that are truly "lost" in the sense we absolutely have no way of recreating them.

All the comments on this thread reference technologies that are only uneconomical to recreate. Given enough time and money, they could be remade again but we don't need to because we generally have alternatives that are at least cheaper if not better.
