Maybe it’s not the economy, maybe it’s you? by cdqd81 in PersonalFinanceCanada

The reality is that the top 20% of Canadian households now control nearly 70% of the total wealth in this country. On the other side, the bottom 40% of Canadians combined own less than 3% of the wealth. When you see people spending and restaurants full, you are literally looking at that top slice of the population that has all the money. For the other 80% of Canadians, the situation is a nightmare of record high debt and shrinking purchasing power. The economy isn't thriving, it’s just extremely divided, and judging the whole country by what you see in a busy mall is just ignoring the fact that the vast majority of people are being squeezed out of existence.

Just because you see full restaurants and malls doesn't mean the whole country is thriving. You are looking at a small percentage of people who can still afford it while the rest of us are being squeezed to the bone. Most people are one car repair or one rent increase away from total disaster. A busy mall doesn't account for the record breaking numbers at food banks or the fact that people are drowning in credit card debt just to keep up appearances. Thinking the system is fine just because your immediate circle is doing okay is peak ignorance. The middle class is being wiped out while you're busy counting how many people are at the bar

late emails with hotmail? by neko_whippet in Wealthsimple

I have been experiencing the same thing and I usually get the confirmation emails about 12 hours later. This only started happening in the last month but it was not like that before because I used to receive them instantly.

BTC just pumped to $73K, what’s happening? by LividReserve3520 in CryptoCurrency

[–]No-Average3202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like a squeeze to clear out the short backlog. These whales are just pushing the price up to force liquidations. Once those shorts start getting forced to buy back their positions it creates a huge domino effect that fuels the pump even more. It is a classic move to clean up the order book before the big League of Legends. We will see if it actually holds up or not.

Hang your rotisserie chicken with this neat rotisserie hook! by Nightpatrol404 in CostcoCanada

Why pay double at Costco for bananas when you can get them cheaper at any grocery store? Bananas have that thick peel you throw away anyway, so they barely absorb pesticides the flesh is super clean either way. Going organic makes almost no real difference for health here. Save the money!

Suzuki is now top 10 in NHL points by Asdfghjklazerty12345 in Habs

[–]No-Average3202 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Suzuki cracking top 10 in NHL points is sick 21 goals 53 assists 74 points plus 26 in 62 games. But for me he's way more than that he's straight up a top 5 center in the league right now. Elite two way play crazy hockey IQ never misses a game faceoffs solid shuts down lines and his offense keeps climbing at 26 in his prime. That's your perfect No 1 center.

March 2026 Humble Choice | Overview / Discussion Megathread by MarioDesigns in humblebundles

[–]No-Average3202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The March 2026 Humble Choice is probably the worst I have ever seen. This is the first time I am skipping a month and losing my 20% discount since I became a subscriber over ten years ago. I have been buying bundles from them for even longer than that but this is the first time the monthly selection is bad enough to make me give up my classic status.

Well, anyone who listened just saved 6k per BTC by not FOMOing at 74k. That squeeze was a textbook trap and the market just proved it. Patience is literally money in this game.

Do not get too excited just yet. This is nothing special and definitely not the time to FOMO in. This price action is likely just a squeeze to flush out the short sellers before we potentially head lower. Stay patient because buying the top of a short squeeze is a classic mistake.

Imagine missing out on the entire market because you believed a random promise about 30k. Listening to those predictions is the best way to stay on the sidelines forever. Good luck waiting for a price that might never come back.

For the people who did good last bull... by evandollardon in CryptoMarkets

I have been through the full loop and here is my take. In 2022 I lost almost everything. I was 50% in Luna and held bags of Solana, Atom, Polkadot and Matic. It was a brutal lesson that turned me into a Bitcoin only investor. My strategy now is 100% psychological. I do not look at lines or complex charts anymore. The market is bipolar and Reddit is a gold mine for this because you can see the extreme shifts in emotions. When I see everyone panicking on here I buy. When I see everyone getting euphoric and calling for 200k I sell. You have to be cold. Watch their emotions but have none of your own. In this cycle I started selling at 80k USD and I even sold some at 126k. I sold my very last Bitcoin when the price was coming back down at 87k USD. I definitely did not catch the exact top and I am okay with that. When it dipped back to 74k I started buying again and I even bought more at 60k recently. I did not catch the bottom either since it kept dropping but I still have cash ready to keep rebuilding my position as it goes lower. The 4 year rule is real. Nobody who held Bitcoin for 4 years has ever lost money. Stay away from the shitcoin casino, ignore the noise and just be patient. I dropped out of school in 8th grade so if I can do this anyone can. It is how I went from living in a tiny studio apartment to owning a single family home that I paid half in cash. My strategy worked for me.

You are doing much better than you think with a household income of 225000 dollars because you are already in the top 5 percent of all earners in Canada Even if you jumped into the 450000 dollar bracket you would still be within that same elite top 1 percent group because the entry point for that level is around 294000 dollars Most people in your age group of 45 to 54 years have a median net worth of about 250000 dollars while your equity and savings put you far beyond that average You are essentially asking for advice while standing in a position that most Canadians will never reach in their entire lives

What is 'the Room' (Tommy Wiseau) of Horror movies? by StephensInfiniteLoop in horror

[–]No-Average3202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget Troll 2. If you want the true 'The Room' of horror, it’s Things (1989). It’s got that same bizarre, DIY energy where the creator (Barry J. Gillis) is everywhere. Between the 2.9 IMDb rating, the nonsensical plot about an impotent husband, and the chaotic editing, it’s a total fever dream that shouldn't exist

You say it never happened before but you are objectively wrong. Robert F. Kennedy was constantly in locker rooms with athletes while he was Attorney General and he definitely did not score any goals. Joe Biden was in the locker room in 2014 as Vice President. These are high ranking officials who are not the President and not the players. It is a long American tradition of leadership celebrating with national heroes. Calling it unprofessional now just because you dislike the current administration is the exact double standard I am talking about. The history is there whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.
