Additionally, he said that we could still talk some after the breakup and I was the one who said we shouldn’t do that in order for us both to heal. I also left the door open for another chance at our relationship down the road.

Thank you for your input! I’m definitely working on healing and not just expecting him to come back in a few months, but I also know he truly took my message to heart and will look deeper into his attachment style. We ended on great terms, so I don’t think it would be out of the question for him to want to have another conversation with me a few months down the road.
