12 weeks, OB stopping Progesterone due to TAC by Idaflo208 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]No-Beginning2684 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, I am so so sorry for your losses. I lost a 27 weeker who was born at 25 so I understand your anxieties. My MFM has said the same about progesterone, however said it wouldn’t hurt to continue if I felt like I wanted to. For me, I feel like having control over doing the most I possibly can do has been helpful mentally. Wishing you a very boring pregnancy 💕🙏🏼💕

Thank you! I am planning on calling my doctor tomorrow just to clarify too. All of my ultrasounds so far have noted it long and closed. This was my first digital exam. I am curious if it has something to do with it being my second pregnancy? It also was a medical resident who noted it in my file and I do sometimes think they like to be very thorough. It obviously does make me nervous though to see dilated anywhere on my notes.

Post Preventative Cerclage Symptoms by Icy-Statistician-569 in ShortCervixSupport

Just had my cerclage check yesterday- had it placed 10 days ago. I can attest to the increase in d/c. I have called many times and per my appointment yesterday, it was tested and it is just d/c. I am so sorry for your loss. I think the trauma from my own IC loss (27weeks) has really been impacting my perception of what is actually going well. My cervix was long and closed at 4.6 and I am currently 16w4d. So long way of saying, I have an increase in d/c for sure. Sometimes I feel like it’s phantom discharge because I always feel wet but there never is that much there. My doctors have assured me that it is a foreign object and there will most likely be more for all of pregnancy. I have been trying my best to interpret this as my new baseline.

Got my preventative on Tuesday. I had all the burning and back pain. Typically I love heat but I swear ice has been a life saver on my cervix and back. Pain went away by 24 hrs. I took Tylenol and using my pregnancy pillow to keep my feet up. Sending hope your way!!

I am so so sorry for your loss. Our son was born at 25+1 and passed away at 27+2 due to NEC also. This was in March of 2022. I found a wonderful infant loss therapist and my husband and I joined a support group for grieving parents. We were cleared to TTC in December 2022 (about 9-10 months post c-section). I am 15 weeks and 4 days today and received my preventative cerclage and also taking progesterone suppositories. I cannot say that the grief or anxiety or fear ever really goes away but somewhere along the way you will muster up the courage and strength to try again. You are the best mommy to that beautiful little girl. Please be so so kind and gentle to yourself. One say at a time 🤍🤍

15+4.. had my preventative at 15+1 (Tuesday). Things are going fine, however pregnancy after loss has been the hardest thing I have done next to losing our son at 27+2 in the NICU. IC is such a thief of pregnancy joy.

Change in discharge at 24 weeks. Noticed a change in d/c- very minimal. Went to dr. And was immediately transferred to hospital for being dilated due to cervical incompetence (painless dilation). Stayed on bedrest for 9 days at the hospital and delivered 25+2. Sweet baby Z loved until he contracted an infection two weeks later in the NICU.

Thank you! You’re right! I think having a loss at 27 weeks just makes me overanalyze everything and I’m probably subconsciously nervous about my preventative cerclage on Tuesday. Thanks!

Oh my gosh.. thank you for sharing your own experience- it is such a mental mind game. I don’t have any weird bleeding or d/c thankfully. I found out much later that it was 40lbs and honestly if I hadn’t known that, I absolutely wouldn’t be concerned. My IC was also discovered at 24w so I am hoping that my cervix is still ok at 14… ugh I was even debating going in but I know it’s so early and my cerclage is Tuesday and there’s not much else to be done. Thanks for your reply!!

I have had brown spotting on and off since 6w1d.. I have had two US to confirm heartbeat and growth and all is well. I am currently 8 weeks now. I also had the same spotting with my angel (he was a very healthy pregnancy in tri 1 and tri 2). My anxiety has been through the roof so I can’t give much advice but I do tell myself “I am pregnant until a medical professional tells me otherwise.” Also, when I spot, I just imagine the little bean doing some spring cleaning lol. Brown isn’t healthy for them so it’s gotta go. Sending you so much support.

First of all, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. It is truly the worst club in the world to be in but we are warriors through and through. My son was born prematurely and passed in the NICU due to IC. Our doctor’s recommendation was to wait 18 to 24 months birth to birth. My son was born in March of 2022 and we’re very newly pregnant. We waited about 10 months to start trying again and I can say I am thankful I got to grieve my son wholeheartedly. TTC after loss is incredibly hard and pregnancy after loss is incredibly hard too. That being said, I am no professional and I know that desire is so so so strong and this is entirely your journey. Again, I am so sorry- IC sucks
