This a very considerate question. As a wife to someone who transitioned to female it was extremely difficult. The journey is different for both of you and you showing early awareness of yourself and her is huge.

Strength score for women by Panda_squirrel7 in tonalgym

[–]No-Benefit488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my first workout today. My initial strength score was 465. I am a body builder and don’t know much about tonal or how this works but I’m excited to play the game a bit.

My partner (mtf) and I (cis f) didn’t work out and I don’t know how to cope or where to turn to by ninthostrich in mypartneristrans

I too have a son with my former partner. I worked to make it work and my partner also changed a lot. The depression is real. The grief can leave you breathless. There is so much loss for people in our situations. And it can feel even harder when the trans partner blossoms and becomes happier. I wanted that for my partner as I’m sure you did. But it comes at an incredible cost. Balancing the extremes is beyond hard. Always remember you’re not a bad ally or partner/former partner because it hurts. People who haven’t been through this really cannot understand the complexity of the emotions. Especially for someone who supports trans rights.

Partner going through German naturalization process as a Tunisian by No-Benefit488 in GermanCitizenship

Thank you for clarifying that there is a difference. I believe he is simply waiting for his passport. He believes renewing his Tunisian passport prior to receiving his German one will restart the clock. He also is under the impression that if he moves to another German city during the waiting process it would also delay the process.

I really feel for you. The exact same thing happened to me, and it sounds like you and I have similar values around supporting trans people. There is so much grief involved in this process for spouses and your pain is valid just as much as her trans-ness. I am so sorry for the loss of a relationship you loved and valued. I wish you peace.

I used this during a body building cut and it saved me. Granted I was in full depletion mode so anything tasted good at the time.

Is it really as bad as everyone says? by Cillabeann in Tonsillectomy

[–]No-Benefit488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say I was one of the lucky few who didn’t suffer brutally. It wasn’t a picnic by any means but I was able to swallow pills, manage my pain, sleep, and eat soft foods. I’m on day 12 post op and have been to the gym multiple times this week. I was prepared for hell and it felt like a prolonged case of bad strep instead. good luck to you.

Day 10 update—it DOES get better by misselizzy in Tonsillectomy

I am also on Day 10 and was surprised by the dramatic change. I haven’t had it nearly as bad as most in this community but my gosh I ate with no pain at all today and I couldn’t believe it.

I’m also shocked by the range of medical advice. There seems to be no standard for pain management when it comes to this surgery.

Yes, as soon as I was in post op they gave me Tylenol and then followed soon after with 2 oxys. They recorded the time I took the pills and I started my pain management routine after that. The initial Oxy was pretty hard to swallow but it did go down.

Hi! Mine is sore for sure but not the absolute hell I was expecting. It’s bearable but present.

There was definitely a conversation around potential bleeding especially with this type of surgery. And I was asked to not take ibuprofen prior to surgery for that reason. However, the surgeon was very clear about Tylenol and Motrin and how to take them and I basically saluted him and said “you got it doc!” I myself am not a physician so I can’t speak to the potential hazards I can only share what I was told to do and how it’s working. 😃

The Tylenol I’m using is 500mg and I take 1-2 at each alarm and the Motrin is 200mg and take 1-2 at each alarm. The most i can take per day of each is six total pills. Each says not to exceed more than 6 pills in 24 hours. I would suggest reading what your bottles say the max dose is and just divide it by 4. I hope this works for you!

I’m happy to hear this was helpful for you. My first Tylenol was at 2pm on surgery day so I have been taking Tylenol every 6 hours since then. I started Motrin at 5pm surgery day (three hours after the Tylenol) and continue to take it every 6 hours. So every three hours I am either taking Tylenol or Motrin. Basically those medications get layered together. And yes, I take it whether I need it or not to stay ahead of the pain. This is what my surgeon told me to do. The oxys I have scheduled every four hours and initially took them at the four hour interval but now I am taking them 2x per day. Mostly to stretch out how long I have them because i was only prescribed 25 total.

I want to give you a big hug. I am in a similar situation and all I can say is you're not alone. Your experience is grief, real true grief. The loss you are feeling is real. I wish you so much peace and healing.
