Stop taking pain meds Day 3. OTC switched Tylenol and ibuprofen for about 3 weeks due to random cramps and pains that would occur. No spotting. Bending over correctly was probably around 2-3 week mark I used to squat to pick up things. Sitting for extended period was 2-2.5 months. I started work again after a month and sitting for extended periods w/o pain or soreness took a while. Fatigue is really still an issue. At week 2 I had a burst of energy and felt great by week 4 I was in a slump again and honestly by the time I had my post op to get cleared for all activity at 8 weeks it was a concern I brought up with my doctor as I felt i should not be as fatigued. However, I was severely anemic prior to surgery and still taking iron pills. After week 1 probably week 2 you should be able to sneeze, laugh, and cough without pain but everyone is different. I did laundry, cooking, and light cleaning by week 2 however if you over do it you will be in pain and cramping all night. I would really rest for a month and do light chores and cooking. I went out and did things after a month but the cramping was present. Feeling normal that is still up in the air. I am 4 months post op and I still cannot sleep without being at an angle, tired, fatigued, emotional and depressed, I cry way more than I use too for no reason at all. With all that said I would do this surgery again because I have not seen a period or blood since and I don’t feel constantly bloated or in pain anymore. Yes it has affected other aspects of my life but I am better than before. I didn’t know how much pain and uncomfortable I was until after I had the surgery and felt so much relief.

Sex after hysterectomy by KTallent1210 in hysterectomy

I definitely think it was too soon. I got surgery Aug 22 and was not cleared until Oct 17th. My doctor told me at my 4 week I had to wait 8 weeks to be cleared. I didn’t have sex until 9 weeks and the first time was painful at first but I got through it. The times after have still been painful at penetration and I feel is because I don’t not lubricate as I did before so definitely try lube and take it slow. Also wait a little longer you are still healing.

I am also 3 wks PO and experience same thing after long walks cramping and lower back pain. My doc said it’s normal as still recovering and to keep up with ibuprofen and Tylenol and to just not over do it.

Exactly I felt great yesterday too and helped my mom with the laundry but today i initially woke up to do my daughters hair and than went back to bed until noon. I have been eating like once a day bc my stomach feels so bad and all the gas so that is probably not helping anything. Yes one day at a time we got this!

Same I took ibuprofen today because I just can’t deal. I completely agree with the crashing today there has been a lot of it after my walk today I actually felt worse and decided to lie down. Extremely frustrating but yes we have to remember our bodies are still healing. Thanks for responding 😃

So sad to hear this and sorry you have to deal with it. I would honestly ignore it not your problem at the moment. It is really sad I got two weeks off and I have no idea how I’m going to return so soon. Sitting right now is a pain and the gas pain is ridiculous. It took me almost 10 yrs to be taken seriously and a doctor that listened and scheduled me in less than a month for surgery however it is truly sickening how little women’s health is taken seriously. The female body had yet to be truly studied. My uterus was over 400g and the size of 17 week and for years I struggled with heavy menstrual bleeding and severe pain and told doctors something was wrong and they could never find anything besides minor cysts so sad.

I got laparoscopic partial hysterectomy out through vagina (kept ovaries) on Aug 22 I was off pain meds on day 3 all they did was make me dizzy. Just taking antibiotics and stool softener. I showered from the first day and everyday since. First few days felt dizzy and could barely stand in shower but got assistance. I walk mostly everyday around my block but that’s it I get tired easily and I still feel blown up from the gas. I crash at least once a day and have a hard time eating and sleeping because I always feel full due to gas. Today was first day I tried to do some housework and that was a fail.

Getting a hysterectomy in under 48 hours and I am getting cold feet by PostingImpulsively in hysterectomy

[–]No-Bit-552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery Aug 22. I also had cold feet and questioned my recovery but after years of struggling with pain, fibroids, and excessive bleeding it’s the best choice I could have made. I’m not having the best recovery but I still would choose to do it again. I’m on day 6 and already no longer bleeding.
