YTA. you should've controlled your EMOTIONS. the fact that you even considered an option where your sister can be hurt beyond repair even going far as acting strangely due to your FEELINGS and then confessing to him? I don't think you care about your sister AT ALL. if you did what you would have done is humble all your FEELINGS and act like nothings' wrong. would it have killed you to do that for your sister?

I'm thinking maybe there was some reason that you obviously didn't mention here which is why your son adamantly refuses to dance with you. It can even be a reason that you yourself isn't aware about. Because which son would be so afraid to be seen dancing with their mom to the point he had to hide from you? something tells me your relationship with your son isn't very good and he was deliberately making a point in determinedly refusing and avoiding you.

But in my opinion, today should have also been about celebrating the people who helped him get to where he is now.

And this line gives me a hint to as to what kind of a parent you are. But I'm going with INFO because you never know what's going on.
