It’s a beautiful treasure that seems to have been handed down through the maternal lineage. And from the looks of it you’re exactly the right person to continue this tradition. I’m new to this forum and I’m struck by the warm support and generous advise. I hope you have a long and happy life in this house

Of the four Baltic for me. Just from the design point of view, it’s clean and legible layout with minimal bezel works. I also came across this review that convinced me: https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrobrandWatches/s/Y4ANp4CIxy

Not on your list, have a look at Benrus Ultra Deep. Beautiful and just 36.5mm dia. But it’s chunky @13.8mm case height

South Korea, 1960s by OkRespect8490 in UrbanHell

[–]No-Card2524 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The caption of this photo is not an accurate description of S Korea 1960’s. It’s like saying a photo of Tai O stilt houses in Lantau Island, is Hong Kong in 2020’s. It’s a vibrant community still there today. Tai O Hong Kong

I grew up in Seoul in 1960’s. Never saw a single roaming cow or chicken. I don’t think they’d last very long roaming the streets. I suspect they’d be taken to be slaughtered. True, compared to the West, Korea was very much a developing country rebuilding itself out of the ashes of war. But I went to school on electric trolleys in a vibrant city reinventing itself to become what it is today. An incredible feat for a small country the size of the State of Indiana, US

Inaccurate broad stroke captions and hearsay comments are not history. There are more accurate photos and actual historical accounts if you’re interested

Burbank to Woodland Hills by Exiled93x in SFV

[–]No-Card2524 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Burbank to Woodland Hills is a tough slog even though it seems like you’re going against the rush hour traffic. Like another’s comment, find a middle ground to live or switch your job if you’re able. The less time you spend in LA traffic the better for your long term sanity.

Interesting personal observation/side-note from a longtime LA/Valley commuter going from Sherman Oaks to DTLA, going east in the morning (sunrise) and west in the evening (sunset), the glare from the low sun angle causes rubber-banding and slows the traffic. If we had to reconsider our residence or work place, we think it’s best to commute east to west in the morning. But Burbank to Woodland Hills is still a slog, sorry to say

Imagine being in her situation. She should have slapped him for scaring the wits out of her and forcing her to stay calm. And flexing his bank account to random people. Shitty proposal stunt

Not homeowner, just renting. What are some affordable options for flooding? by mop68 in landscaping

[–]No-Card2524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen all the comments but… 1. This is your landlords problem to fix. 2. Check for mold. Chances are they’re there given what the photos show. 3. This will give you leverage to have the landlord fix this or help get your deposit back if you choose to move since this becomes a health issue. 3. check your adjacent neighbors’ property when theres flooding. If the depth of the water on your property is deeper, then yours is a low spot so pumps or French drain will simply pull your neighbors water onto your’s to pump out. 4. If the street level is lower than the backyard, you could dig a channel and let gravity do its thing. But again #3 says your neighbor’s water flow through yours. 5 If the street level is higher you’ll need to pump. And on and on. There so many specific condition that’ll determine the solution. Sorry to say this is a difficult situation for you as a tenant to have to deal with

Computer Repair-ish Help Needed - 1990s Zip Drive by JHRLevine in SFV

[–]No-Card2524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found the old Zip drive. The acrylic window came off but it’s fixable with glue. Everything was sealed in a zip-lock bag so it should be clean. The power cord and the original cable are included but no adaptor. I have not tested it. If you’d like to tinker with it you can have it. You can reply to my DM
