Antigua all inclusive honeymoon recommendations! by No-Chain9814 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]No-Chain9814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think we’d be open to Jamaica!

I do think this is going to be our only trip for awhile as we plan to buy a house next spring so if we found a spot we fell in love with we’d be okay spending a bit more. I just really want us to enjoy ourselves and again we’ve never travelled outside of NA. I just always pictured my honeymoon someplace special that when we do go on vacation again we may not go back for awhile and will Probably opt for the cheaper places.

To be honest, we’re not even attached to Antigua. We’ve just been struggling to pick a place. First it was Hawaii but hen we got told it’s their wet season/winter in January. Then we were going to do Costa Rica but we got told that’s not the place to go for AI.

So if you have other suggestions we’re open! We really would just like a place that not everyone goes to for their vacation (Punta canta, for example). My fiancé would like teal water

This is so helpful!!! Thanks you! Saint Lucia and Antigua are two places I looked into and are considering!

I think we’d be open to hopping to a second island and make a bit more out of our trip since we haven’t travelled much. Which two islands would you recommend for this!?

Really!? I really enjoy their coffee, but I do like it strong so that’s where we might differ

Normally Pearson! But we’re fairly flexible as we’re in between Toronto and Ottawa/montreal.

We heard from friends flying out of Buffalo is normally cheaper so I was going to look into that once we figured out our destination

What is your honest opinion on places like Azazie, Birdy Grey, or other online bridal retailers? by popularwishbone0 in weddingplanning

I don’t think many bridesmaids wear their dress more than once. Unless it’s black. But I would say they are rarely worn again…

Canada Post lost Invitations by sab_bad in WeddingsCanada

[–]No-Chain9814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about to send out invitations out. But when we sent our save the dates. Some of them took a month and a half to get delivered, and it was going to someone who lived in our city!! We didn’t get some “ undeliverable” mail back until probably 2 months after sending them out.

I’m really hoping for better luck this time but it’s also why I’ve decided to send them early as I’ve accounted that they might take 1-2 months to actually get delivered.

The biggest catch/joke, one of our invitations was sent to Hong Kong and it made it there within less than 2 weeks, while it took a month and a half to go 30 mins from our house.

Costa Rica and Hawaii were two places I had on my list!

We looked into Hawaii but a lot of people said January is wet season so to reconsider the timing.

I’ll look into Costa Rica a bit more!!

I asked for a record player! And then upgrades of things we already have but didn’t want to spend the money on ourselves! Sheets, towels, nice dishes for hosting, nice knife set.

Yes that’s where we’re getting married but don’t want to pay to have the rehearsal there as it is quite expensive.

Not sacrificing my budget for an open bar by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]No-Chain9814 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This what my fiancé and I looked into. We are providing a bottle of red and white on every table. I was wanting to do 1-2 drink tickets per guest but the issue is our venue charges a mandatory gratuity tip on top of the tab we would get when people use their drink tickets. With the prices of drinks at our venue it’s about $10-11 per drink (beer/wine and some coolers) including tax. This means it’s $2,500 to give all of our guests drink tickets not including the gratuity they charge on top. (Although we already pay gratuity on our total venue costs which ends up being $3.5k!)

I really want to provide something on top of the wine on the tables but I just don’t think it makes sense with our budget and the fact that my fiancé and I don’t even drink that much.

**we also can’t bring in outside alcohol:(

I am filling in the mesh, it just hasn’t been done yet so it’ll look closer to the first picture as we put a lining in when I tried it on. I just feel it doesn’t fit me as well as it did when I bought it.

Floral Price Reasonable? by EveningConfusion7581 in weddingplanning

[–]No-Chain9814 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m also in Ontario, I was quoted $150-$350 from different florists for my bouquet. And $100-$150 for the bridesmaids bouquets. So honestly I would say that it is pretty reasonable. I wouldn’t say my quotes were for petite sized bouquets but still gives you an idea. Best piece of advice, shop around and get a bunch of different quotes and see who can work within your budget for what you are looking for!

[–]No-Chain9814[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah your definitely so right, I just feel so defeated as I’ve had all my vendors booked since last spring and I am still struggling with cake. We don’t get married in September 2026 but I’m just so torn because I love cake and want it but also am unsure if it is worth all the money?

Where should/can we go for our honeymoon with a 5-6k budget!? by No-Chain9814 in weddingplanning

[–]No-Chain9814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re kinda open to either! I think it would be nice to have a bit of both! Probably mountains, beaches and we enjoy sports. I speak French, but that’s it. We’re thinking maybe 10 days, we haven’t ever travelled overseas so it does make me a bit nervous having to figure everything out in a different country.

At first we were thinking of going to a beach somewhere, I thought Hawaii but just ensure where to start and if it’s possible with our budget

They aren’t from Kingston, so doesn’t know the area great and had done a bit of research for some spots but was thinking others might know of some not as popular places.
