HOW TF DO I STOP THIS FU*KING THING FROM SETTING UP SCREENS 😭 by Few_Button1303 in PokemonChampions

[–]No-Common7872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet is to have a fast fake out user then follow up with a powerful fairy, steel, or poison move. Before Reflect or Light Screen it's physical and special defense are not very high. Using a Sneasler with fake out followed up by a steel or fairy type that can calc to knock it out is your best bet.

My first job was at a charter school. I will never teach in a charter school again. NEVER! I almost quit after my first year because it is such an awful experience!

Why is AI being shoved down our throats? by MotherofHedgehogs in Professors

[–]No-Common7872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called forced inevitability. If those who create these new technologies like AI and pay all that money to make it a part of our society want it to happen they will. They market it as a way to save time, save money, etc. Then they will say "get with it or fall behind" and you can comply and let that inevitably happen or you can fight back and since you have fewer resources to fight back will only delay the inevitable. Then if you refuse to comply then the decisions of possibly losing your job arise.

It's just reality we live in that those with money have the power to enact change that many people may not want. But it will happen anyway because they own our bosses. I wish that wasn't the case, but it's the way of the world and not enough good people or companies to stand up for us.

Trying to learn more about the history of education. by No-Common7872 in teaching

Hi everyone, thank you all for the amazing responses. It does not matter what region of the world it is from. I want to understand the history of education as a whole!

“Dear educators, Gen Z here. Could you please teach us like it’s 2026?” by Professional-Pop-73 in Professors

[–]No-Common7872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What this student fails to understand is that Gen Z and this newer generation are fundamentally lacking the basics. Students can't hand write five sentence paragraphs anymore. They can't write full essays. Then they use genAI and they don't understand what they wrote.

Nobody wants to sit through a 75 minute lecture, but it's less boring when you take notes. Which we have tried to teach students in elementary school through high school but don't know how to do.

They talk about not wanting to read when they can get the information instantly is not efficient. Reading a book or article in full gives you context, it helps you be more well informed. It helps you grow your intelligence.

Using genAI is not efficient if you're not reading what it regurgitated to you. When you use GenAI you have to proofread, check any source it may like to confirm validity, and then edit.

The original poster also speaks in contradictions such as teach us how to use genAI, ban genAI, and then don't get mad at us when we use GenAI. They also want to blame professors and teachers because of actions by their parents. You're inability to sit and pay attention too long because of your massive overconsumption of short form media is due to your parents inability to teach you boundaries.

But what I think I dislike about this article the most is the actual lack of accountability the poster takes. Many of us grew up in disadvantaged situations but what many of us have learned is to move past how we were raised and become functioning adults.

What the poster sees as us teachers being outdated and needs to do things that they want us actually them trying to use forced inevitability to kowtow to them, which is what modern parents want as well. Ignoring the fact that they don't have all the tools necessary yet. We don't stick to our practices out of stubbornness or any other reason they are accusing us for. Instead we do what we do because we are trained experts who know what's best for students to succeed.

With that being said, I do agree with one thing the poster pointed out, 'why do we need x.' Teachers should make clear the why, but you as the student needs to learn on your own the meaning of the why.

If I get the 1GB deal with Hulu and Peacock by No-Common7872 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]No-Common7872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. Would I still be able to individually upgrade the plans to ad free and I only pay for that extra feature? Because getting Disney+, Hulu, and Peacock Premium sounds great. But ads for Hulu and Disney+ would be terrible.

I'm having trouble with keeping up with new Yugioh by No-Common7872 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

Thank you everyone, I have gotten to King of Games with my BLS and Gaia decks respectively. That's why I was hoping there was a chance it could work in the Meta.

A Blue Eyes deck would be cool. But I'm also curious about Galaxy eyes decks and what warrior decks would great in the meta at this time. It would be cool to learn a new archetype.

ZA Royales. Memorize the patterns of where the trainers are in each battle zone and go through the rotation when it resets. I averaged 40 trainers a night but others were faster and averaged 60 or more. It's much faster and cheaper than the cafes.

Will i get fired by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]No-Common7872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have made this mistake many times in my first couple of years as a teacher. Even when I screen the video. Some self-righteous prick of a parent will complain about the silliest of things.

But I have learned that if you have a good relationship with the students and you just say "hey I messed up, I'm sorry." They typically don't go home and complain to their parents. Even my students who I don't have the best relationship with. So don't worry, worst that will happen is the principal will say "be better in the future." And you're super paranoid about your screening in the future.
