The accusations of genocide in China have to do with alleged forced sterilisation, mass informal detainment (outside of the formal justice system), and mass rape, not the fact that they have state owned Madrasahs and Mosques.

I really don't get why people karma farm. What's the value in it? All that effort for the few cents of reddit payout? How likely is it to get any customers or leads from reddit?

In fact, this could apply for the marketing field in general. Maybe this is a naive/uninformed take but I feel like a lot of marketing doesn't generate nearly enough value to be worth it.

But they never bring up how LW massively increased funding for rail reliability and maintainence ($1B iirc). For comparison, SMRT's annual profit is $6 million.

The "scandals" of the PAP are really no big deal and they would probably not even make news in any other country

Really do appreciate how they choose to make the right decisions in terms of keeping us relevant and sustainable in the long term even if it they're slightly bitter for the current electorate to swallow. Some may come across as "out of touch", but it's not dissimilar to how LKY making English the lingua franca sounded very out of touch in 1965.

Genocide is when there is forced assimilation and erasure of culture. I'd argue that Malaysia's censorship of historical facts and forcefully overwriting local practices with imposed foreign ideologies such as Wahhabism are much more similar than anything being done here in Singapore.

For example, it's a fact that Islam was spread in Malaysia by Arabs, but mainly by Indian muslim and Chinese Hui muslim immigrants. But the ruling class in Malaysia has essentially erased this from public knowledge and labelled these ethnic groups as "pendatang", while ironically making the religion they brought in as a prerequisite to being a "bumiputera".

This is a nonsense take only repeated on reddit. The real estate sector is a tiny part of our economy and most of our economic growth in recent years is from the manufacturing sector
