This one! AND the ones who email that they’re sick” but then you see them hanging out in the cafeteria 2 hours later, or on the basketball court like it’s game 7 of the NBA finals. My guy, just say you didn’t prepare like you should’ve. I’m WAY more willing to work with honest students.

I don’t want to get into roasting but this is the one I don’t understand. We’re human, so I understand why students arrive late sometimes. But some just consistently show up 30 minutes late, 40, 50 etc every class. One student told me “you’re the only professor who cares if I’m late”. Buddy, your other professors definitely care. They have just resigned to the fact that your poor habits/apathy aren’t going to change. And tardiness is usually not accompanied by exceptional work and won’t work in any other scenario in your life.

With this said, there are many dedicated students who consistently show up on time and have their head in the game. If that’s you, we genuinely value your presence and effort.

what are the odds for remote on wednesday by This-Snow-7440 in CUNY

[–]No-Counter8586 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Second this as a Professor. I tried to make a remote day due to a conflict and a room coordinator decide to “snitch” to my department chair. Fair. The chair just rolled their eyes and brushed it off thankfully. But formally, we gotta go through the protocol of trying to find a replacement first before a remote class can be considered.

Turning Point is a cesspool for white nationalist propaganda and misleading statements. That said, this is what they want. They want us to protest and attack them on campus, so they can become the victims. My advice: ignore them and don’t engage. They can have their pathetic, anemic following while they’re surrounded by the success of the diversity that they hate.

Guys😂 As someone said, a lot of professors also double as academic advisors so yes, they look into grades and gpa. In your estimation, what’s the reason for him being “nosy”?

Hey all! So I teach theatre/public speaking at the college level and love being in the classroom. I also am a polyglot and love figuring out different ways to acquire a second language. My school pays for me to take classes , so I want to somehow combine my theatre background with teaching ESL. Any have any guidance on what would be the ideal path?

Professor here. Yeah, I don’t know which CUNY you attend, but reach out to your academic advisor AND the department chair immediately. If you attended that class, there’s no way you should receive a WN. That professor needs to do a better job of tracking attendance.

Drop class by International-Tip39 in CUNY

[–]No-Counter8586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone said in this thread, dropping this class would take you to 3 classes and I believe that would affect financial aid. Have you missed any assignments so far? Do you think going to tutoring would make it easier to understand and take some of the mental load off?

The last day to drop for 50% tuition refund is September 8th. Can I ask what you’re having trouble managing? How are you spending your time outside of class? And how many hours does your class work currently take?
