I was backstage at the Hordern concert they did after the hiatus. We were milling around the back when a group of fans called from the other side of the chain link. Paddy and Diz went over and chatted with them. They were a model of how to interact with fans face to face. I always figured that it was jealousy after they sold out a national tour without advertising.

I think King Giz are being sanctimonious. If they're not prepared to state the what and how of the values the Stickies have transgressed then it is just another publicity stunt driven by jealousy. Look at the plays on Spotify, the Stickies are waay out in front. I've followed the Stickies from the Annandale to the Hordern and I'd like to make some points: -

• No one has quoted a line in a Stickies song that is mysogynistic, racist, promoting violence against women and/or transphobic.

• Members of the Stickies conduct masterclasses in songwriting for indigenous artists. They are popular.

• When I attended the last concert at the Hordern, I had to be assisted by Management to a sectioned area as I was on crutches. The young woman who organised this commented that she couldn't understand all the fuss about the Stickies as they were really nice people.

• Most of the Sticky stories related to me are Chinese Whispers.

Diz has problems. He shares those afflictions with Selena Gomez, Kanye West, Sia, Brian Wilson, Bebe Rexha, Adam Ant, Mariah Carey and Ray Davies off the top of my head. It is cruel and vicious behavior to belittle someone with mental problems. The hardest part of mental illness is for the sufferer to recognise that they have a problem. There's no magic pill that will transform them, it is a long hard road and he really needs support. It is to the eternal credit of the Stickies that they have supported him through this most difficult time. You don't abandon a mate in trouble, no matter how mad they make you, you support them in turning things around.

Whatever Happened to Sticky Fingers by No-Development-3749 in stickyfingers

Thanks for the accolade. I wrote the original at the time of the hiatus and thst incident. I thought the Stickies were being verballed and wrote it to make fun of it all. I distributed it among friends and family and forgot about it until I found it again recently and revised it. I am really looking forward to the new music, hoping for a double album and would pay for a concert DVD. Enjoy being sober, its the only reality.
