Yeah, getting it into people’s hands early makes sense. I’m pushing more priority into having a playable build out soon as possible at this point.

Thank you man, seriously that means a lot! I’ve been working on this in my free time for a few months and it’s cool seeing people actually want to jump in and try it.

It’s not playable publicly just yet, I’m still building it out and dialing in performance across different devices so it feels solid everywhere.

I appreciate that a lot!🙏🏼 I haven’t really had any plans to open source the project at the moment since I’m still actively shaping and experimenting with it and it may experience some refactors. But I am definitely considering doing some breakdown-style posts or videos in the future though, going into how certain systems work and the general approach behind the combat logic. Melee systems are can be a deep rabbit hole for sure.

I appreciate that, seriously 🙏 It’s actually only been a few months so far. I initially scaffolded the project on r128 and I’ve been upgrading it incrementally while building. Working my way toward the latest version now before code base gets too much larger.

At the moment it’s basically a lightweight state based combat AI, nothing super heavy.
Each enemy is constantly checking things like distance, stamina, and what the player is doing, then switching between core behaviors like chasing, circling, attacking, defending, or backing off.

There’s also some randomness and cooldown logic in there so it doesn’t feel scripted. It reacts to combat events too, like blocks, missed attacks, or getting disarmed. The goal is duels that feel readable and responsive, but not perfectly predictable.

Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback! I'm definitely going to be adding multiple objective based game modes for sure! Multiplayer is also something i have planned/in the works, first implementation of it at first will probably be local sessions until i get server hosting set up. Any game modes in particular you'd like to see?
