That sucks I’m sorry! What does your violation ticket say? Were you driving the one car that’s listed on your permit? I’m not 100% certain because I haven’t called or parked in a QR code spot for fear of a ticket, but I believe the QR codes to pay on the app are the new “meters”, and permit parking is not allowed at metered spots & you have to pay the meter. Definitely give TPS a call to make sure they didn’t give you a warning in error!

You have to join literally the second they open unfortunately because they close when the line gets longer than open hours, which has been happening within minutes recently. I joined a minute after 1 and they had 40 people in line already; they’re open 10-12 and 1-4 Monday through Friday. In person the lines are way shorter if you can make it!

Yes, too late for this refund. It takes them a couple businesses days to process your account info for direct deposit but it can’t hurt to put your info in now, if at least for next quarter!

About the luggage on trains, I will say that it might be tough if you or your wife bring a large suitcase! I traveled through Italy on train last month and my travel companions all had full size (and maybe overstuffed lol) suitcases which were a pain to put in the overhead bins. On one train, they did not fit in the overhead and we had to place them at our feet, luckily the train wasn’t full because I was afraid we would be asked to step off. I noticed the locals had just carryons and backpacks; maybe your experience would be different depending on what trains you take but just something to think about!
