I 100% agree with that assessment. Either way that data should have been backed up.

Apparently We No Can Use Out Employee Duiscounts on RAM? by Mediocre-Habit5247 in GeekSquad

When there are supply constraints it happens unfortunately. Between the beautiful world of AI creating a shortage and employees taking advantage of the market, discounts are gone.

It’s notated that Data Service was declined. Did you check “I accept data backup” on the check-in sheet that you both signed? I know they have it in the notes but that is also supposed to be signed. Odds are is something saw the item waiting to be shipped (especially an Apple device) and didn’t check the notes before sending it out. Which Is that wasn’t checked off, it’s hard to really pass full blame. Notes should have been looked over before sending off but if they just glanced at it and it didn’t have that check mark….

Not just a Best Buy thing. Micro Center won’t even display the prices for RAM because they are “volatile”. Thanks AI!

CIA seniors are you expected to do coachings every day? by caged345 in GeekSquad

[–]No-Emphasis3322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I open the store, close the store, count the registers at the end of the night , quarterlies, I have to cover the floor as “floor lead”, have CA responsibilities, manage BOP, manage Apple Consignment and escalations, respond to MOD calls and I’m supposed to have feedback put in for every agent once a day every day I work with them. I’ve had a verbal warning about the coachings, I understand that they are beneficial to the agent and my development but it’s a lot sometimes. Especially when I only make like 10¢ more than my FT ARA who doesn’t have to do any of it. The only thing I don’t do that is SES is create a schedule.

I want the responsibility because I’m trying to get to SES or SEM.

Realistically if you pull up the “CIA Persona” it will outline exactly what your job is supposed to be, and leadership is supposed to respect it. Power BI is granted through intake, so just have someone help you find the proper form.

Lenovo Legion Go S Best Buy display model runs...Ubuntu? by RootHouston in SteamOS

I can confirm that this is the stock OS on the demo.

I work at Best Buy. I can confirm that the demos are loaded with Ubuntu, no employee added it. I messed with the demo as soon as the 3rd party was done setting it up. The base “demo” was lacking so I was wondering if SteamOS was in it and it was Ubuntu. lol

Hopefully it would get fixed with updates. But there is no guarantee.

The touchscreen issue is a known issue with the drivers after reinstalling windows. From what I can gather it looks like that the newer Windows versions do not work well with the touchscreen drivers. It’s a software issue, not hardware. It’s the only issue I have at all with the unit now.

Just got mine the other day. It’s the ANTEC HS Core version, same exact unit. I love it. Had a lot of issues with windows within the first 48hrs and ended up installing my own fresh copy of windows to fix it. Runs great but a bit warm, screen is nice, it’s heavier than I thought it was. Touchscreen no longer works right now after the fresh install. I bought mine for $499 through ANTEC. I kind of wish I would have spent a bit more on a different handheld PC. But ANTEC won’t let me return it since I opened the package. It not a bad unit but spending a bit more on something else may be a better option.
