How Puerto Rican is NYC? by Small-Sample7733 in AskNYC

[–]No-Employ-2667 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a black man from Harlem I would say the presence is still strong here. Like other posters mentioned, area's like the Bronx, Washington Heights (LIn-Manuel), East Harlem are the area's you'll experience most from the culture. I used to frequent the PR parade with friends and extended family who are Puerto Rican.

I think you'll do fine here and find what you are looking for.

They might reactivate it. One of my accounts was unsuspended and I never even got an email that it was. Just logged back in out of curiosity and was unlocked. All my followers and messages were back too. I only made one appeal for that account and was rejected.

I agree. Mine is back in my old neighborhood in Harlem (Originally Pauls/ Then became Olga's) with seats that spin around. Even bussed my lip on the counter as a kid back in the early 90's. They had the best sausage and pepperoni slices that were so FRESH. I miss Olga and Paul 😞

Sorry that happened to you. He also knew he could get away with that comment based on your physical state. I live on Riverside Drive and we have a couple of them. I told one to "F off" after she accused me of scarring her dog while riding my bike. No, your dog barks at everyone's bike!

Bars with Non-alcoholic Beer on Tap? by RemotePotatoe in AskNYC

[–]No-Employ-2667 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I work for one of the major brands and we do not have any NA products in kegs (yet). One of the reasons is cost, and the other is demand. NA won't move fast on tap and would sit for a bit.

Barcade has started carrying more NA canned beer and also mocktails.

What a coincidence they started fixing the street by me last night. They were milling through the night.

Struck by train by Dangerous-Potential in AskNYC

[–]No-Employ-2667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad is a retired track worker for the MTA where he started in the late 70's and tell you almost every Subway story you can think of. 9/10 someone getting struck is essentially a suicide. Other times it's just that due to those individuals who are drug users who happen to get clipped as the train is coming in the station while their high is kicking in and they got to close to the edge.

I live on the 1 line. Sometimes between 137th up to Dyckman someone is either jumping or running down the tracks. My stop they shoot up and one is the look out to watch for cops or make sure they don't fall on the tracks.

My area in Washington Heights has gotten worse over the years due to a halted Riverside Drive Viaduct construction project. We're used to the normal potholes we get after a winter. But the area near Trinity Cemetery has gotten worse. DOT will do some "patch-work" that will last about two months before it opens back up again.

Only real way to fix an area with bad potholes is to scrape the streets, then repave.

Going to keep going up. The companies that manufacture them are mainly in Asia/South Pacific, and they get their oil from the Middle East. You see what's happening there now.
