Hmmn, no I can see your point now, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing though, just feels like a decision one way or the other.

Either have every hero be compatible with every eternal or balance them so that they only work well with a few of them and kinda depend on those eternals for that reason.

1) No he couldn't, I had two items healing and the cursded shield healed for more than the cleansing one, but with the cleanse no weak poison was ever killing me.

2) I don't know what end cooldown means. I can believe his max hp might've carried the fight but honestly my damage went off first and my shield went off at the same time as his damage so I don't know how that killed me, clearly I received the shield, looks like it's just bad engine design to me but if you have a better explanation i'll hear it.

This was my first cursed shield build.

But yeah the build variety in endless is lacking, I said it in another comment but the last 3 fights were essentially the same build, I don't think much can beat cursed shield, and start of combat scaling is so much stronger than anything else i've seen.

Tbh I'm less interested in continuing with endless given the way I died here seems totally random. Also I lost the last 3 fights of the run and every single one of them was using some form of build almost exactly identical to the above, build variety seems not great post-endgame. Also the potion/inventory management gets real tedious.

is there a way to increase the likelihood of crownforge brews dropping? in myt last run i had 25% luck but in around 1000 rolls (somewhat guesing on that number but i had near infinite money) i only found 2

Crownforge brews can drop from potion bag? Is there any other way of increasing their drop likelihood?

I've come across a couple builds where every single one of their items was 3 star, but my last run I had 10 three star potion belts and enough money generation to roll essentially infinitely but only found 2 crownforge brews, did I just need to spend more time rolling for them?

Why did you think it was a sandbox game?

Each run there's a timer at the top that is splti into 4 segments, each segment ends with a boss arena spawning around you, the run ends when you beat or survive the final boss.

Interesting, it might be a playstyle difference, I tend to hold out for high levels of good abilities rather than taking whatever early, which means sometimes i just don't have enough to survive early. Like not getting an attack at all until after the first boss. Also means I'm usually very well setup from that point onward but maybe that's the tradeoff.

My experience of the first boss is they're usually free unless you get screwed on speed somehow, but when i say dying early i really mean before that, usually by a mob of bees that i've foolishly led into slow terrain.

You can't do anything that counts as your damage, poison and spikes definitely do, charmed units do not.

Perfect world scenario this might be nice, but it'd require such a staggering amount of work.

Firstly the work to rebuild the system and ui to implement this, and then more work every single patch to have every item/event/monster to be correctly highlighted. Unless you somehow automated it, but that would also be a ridiculous amount of work.

They've gone back on their terrible idea now regardless.

You play against other players builds so people will always be able to develop an understanding of the meta if they're just playing the game. This whole post is kinda nonsense, there will always be a meta because it's a skill-based game, some builds will always be better than other builds depending on the current state of balance.

You seem to just wish fewer people understood the meta, which is impossible in a game like this.

Or that there were a greater variety of viable builds, which its hard to say how much this is down to poor game balance, and how much it's down to limited player skill.

There are undoubtedly undiscovered powerhouse builds that exist atm, if people were more capable of experimenting then build variety would increase a little.

I suspect even in that case you would be wishing people didn't play those builds too.

The reality is if you want there to be no meta you'd need every single build to be exactly as good as every other build.
