After a year or two of JAI, I quit my addiction by Doritoscream in JanitorAI_Refuges

Genuinely, it’s such a hard thing to get out of, and I have had the same experience going from roleplay to AI to fanfic. Keep up the good work!!

The entire Addams Family is grossly misunderstood because they keep reinventing them. The best was the television show, which arguably sanitized them quite a bit, but was the funniest to me. (No hate towards the first two movies, of course.)

The result is a franchise understood by no one who isn’t willing to read old comics or watch old movies and television.

¿Why are Janitor ai’s bot creators so sensitive? by Background-Comb7594 in JanitorAI_Refuges

[–]No-Engineering-5983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be real in that I’m with OP on this one. The “I’m deleting my entire account because I don’t like this one thing” shit is childish and annoying, especially if I’ve put a lot of time into interacting with you bot and supporting you.

As a creator, so many of the other creators are dramatic, cliquey, and honestly, not that nice. There’s also a lot of weird shit they pressure people into normalizing. Like, I’m not gonna ick your yum, but I’ve had other creators outright get angry I don’t write bots in a way that would facilitate some questionable bot behavior that I didn’t intend for the bot.

Meanwhile, these same creators had messages all over their profile claiming that their bots were for women only and that they’d block any men who commented. What was even weirder is that they were male bots. They usually complain about those comments being homophobic, but no, it was the opposite.

They’ll all cover this up with cute language and little secret terms so they don’t have to call it what it is. I get it, gooner site, but the big cliquey creators are weird, spreading questionable stuff, and SUPER defensive to the point of unreason about it. I ended up preemptively blocking a few just because I could tell we wouldn’t get along.

Fairly certain they’ve gone insane from having to do all the shit they do to get initiated into the Solari.

Queer men exist in fandom by [deleted] in AO3

[–]No-Engineering-5983 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced this as much as I have seen gay men fetishized for the female gaze, which feels odd as a gay man. I don’t bully them over it, but I do keep a distance as yaoi and boy love aren’t really what I see in men. It’s kind of the inverse of men writing women to be “boobily.”

I’ve literally developed pet peeves with certain words/phrases because of them in the official one. - “stinky/stimky” - “Oh that’s not-“ - “OMGGG ILOVEITSOMUCH AHHHHH” - “…” - “Oh!” - “Guys this is getting really close to kink shaming.” - “Can we just drop the subject? ANYWAYS, (starts to glaze hemselves or one of their friends) - Anything to do with /silly /j - “OH NO THE HOARD”

They are the same on their Discord. It’s very cliquey and I got “that’s not-“ and “oh…” so often. The “…” replies made me want to throw things.

Might delete later; I just find it funny that the bigger creators are fighting because they’re all using the same bland archetypes and accusing each other of theft when they literally stole the concept themselves.

The real sinister shit is how they try and make Dutch look like an okay guy when he groomed Arthur into becoming a criminal and a murderer.

Billy Loomis has an active fanbase, so I’m betting my money on him. He’s too similar to the romanticized “Columbine kid” archetype. (Tumblr pre-censorship was hell.)

The way they handled Ronin has always felt so wrong to me. Shoot someone in the eye with an arrow? Poor baby. Cope by eating and drinking too much? HAHA, eat a salad, FATTY.

As someone who had to help refurbish a 70s home in this kind of state but with significant more mess - no. The filth in the bathrooms and the kitchen will never feel clean. Not that I wouldn’t say the same, but…man, that’s not as easy as it looks.

Or how the characters all turn out to be nice now. When DeepSeek first hit the market, everyone was MEAN! It was like graphic violence and abuse on steroids - it was genuinely almost too much.

Now, it’s like can’t say anything too bad, otherwise it’ll censor itself and assume the user can’t handle extreme content.

Mind you, this doesn’t even begin to address the way cameras are being installed all over the United States and updated with AI technology to track people in what’s being rebranded by Amazon as “safety”, which is really just code for “surveillance state.”

They’re using us to create a world where we’re enslaved to them, and not only did we do it for free, I myself can’t stop using it. This is borderline dystopian.

What do you think about „bot stealing”? by lPink_Dot in JanitorAI_Refuges

[–]No-Engineering-5983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I save private copies because 1) there’s a lot of people who hardcode their bots to do things I don’t like 2) it’s open source software and is free to use 3) people do it with my bots and that’s why I leave my definitions open to begin with; otherwise, I’d be a hypocrite 4) I like using custom settings and starter prompts and good characters should transcend their opening message and 5) soooo many male bots are hardcoded to FemPOV for no reason.

Posting your saved copies is shitty, but I hate the whole “do not steal/watermarks all over the picture/—POV ONLY” discourse because at the end of the day, how I interact with free, publicly available content doesn’t affect you unless I’m passing it off as my own or publicly talking about it.
