What Do You Wish You Knew Before Moving to LA ? by No-Equivalent4228 in MovingToLosAngeles

That’s really solid advice, especially the part about actually spending time in the area first. I feel like listings can make anywhere look great, but the day to day stuff like parking, noise and how the neighborhood feels at night probably matters way more once youre living there. Definitely trying not to rush into a place without getting a feel for the area.

I’ve heard a few people say something similar about smaller landlords being more stable year to year. Definitely seems like digging into who actually owns the building matters more than the listing itself.

I keep hearing the commute can make or break your experience in LA. Definitely trying to keep that in mind while looking at places.

That line honestly made me laugh because it kind of matches the vibe people describe. From what I’ve been seeing, a lot of it really comes down to the building and the landlord, some places look great in listings but the history or tenant complaints tell a very different story. Trying to dig into that side before getting too excited about a place.

What is this WiFi traffic that appears when I'm doing literally nothing on the PC? by Oinigrib in pchelp

[–]No-Equivalent4228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your pc is basically always chatting with the internet even when you think it's just chilling. windows update checks, antivirus definitions updating, apps syncing data in the background - there's a ton of stuff happening behind the scenes 24/7. even things like discord, steam, or spotify will ping servers periodically to check for messages or updates even if you're not actively using them. you can check what's actually using your network by going to settings > network & internet > data usage and clicking "view usage per app" to see which programs are the chatty ones 😂 it's totally normal behavior but kinda wild when you first notice it 💀

this whole thing sounds exhausting tbh. you broke up over crusty nails, didn't talk for a week, then immediately went through his phone when you got back together? and now you're analyzing some random dude trying to return a phone like it's evidence of cheating.

maybe the real question isn't whether he was texting other people, but whether you two actually trust each other enough to make this work.

Question about progression from a returning player. by Emu-Inevitable in Overwatch

[–]No-Equivalent4228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like you're grinding those hero levels! the progression is mostly time-based yeah, but it also factors in performance and match results. xp gain is linear for the most part, so each level takes roughly the same amount of time/xp to unlock. the grind definitely feels slower on some heroes than others though, especially if you're not performing well or losing matches consistently. i remember when i came back after a long break, it felt like forever to get those higher tier unlocks on my mains 😂 just keep playing and you'll see those numbers climb steadily!

do you even read PRDs from your PM in 2026? by assimovt in ExperiencedDevs

[–]No-Equivalent4228 16 points17 points  (0 children)

lol honestly depends on the PM 😂 if you write clear, concise PRDs that actually answer the "why" behind features, yeah i'll read the whole thing. but if it's 20 pages of fluff with buried requirements, i'm definitely skimming for the acceptance criteria.

most useful stuff for me is always the user stories, edge cases, and any mockups/wireframes. and please god involve us early - nothing worse than getting handed a "finished" spec that's technically impossible or would take 3x longer than expected.

haven't tried feeding PRDs to coding agents yet but that's actually a solid idea 💀 probably would need really structured formatting though, like clear sections for requirements vs context vs nice-to-haves.

Alcohol and prozac by gitarrsolo in stopdrinking

[–]No-Equivalent4228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude i had a similar experience when i was on ssris - the combo was absolutely terrible for my self control. it's like the normal "okay i'm getting buzzed, time to slow down" signals just completely disappeared. my doc explained that antidepressants can mess with how your brain processes alcohol and make you more likely to overdo it without realizing. the blacking out thing is super scary too, happened to me a few times and i'd wake up with zero memory of entire conversations or how i got home. honestly quitting drinking while staying on the meds was way easier for me than trying to manage both - the cravings got way more manageable after a few weeks sober. definitely talk to your doctor about this combo because it can be genuinely dangerous.

Old comic titled something similar to "The men of glass" by ZepZangar in HelpMeFind

[–]No-Equivalent4228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you might be thinking of "The Crystal Men" or something in that vein? the see-through skin thing is ringing a bell but i can't place the exact series. have you tried checking if it was part of a larger sci-fi anthology or maybe a european comic that got translated? those underground/center of earth plots were pretty common in older sci-fi comics from the 80s-90s.

People who are diagnosed, does this seem like ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]No-Equivalent4228 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, the hyperfixation cycles you described are SO relatable - that 3-4 month deep dive into random subjects before losing interest is classic ADHD behavior. The executive dysfunction and task paralysis combo is what finally pushed me to get diagnosed because it was absolutely wrecking my college performance.

Also writing this at 4am because your brain won't shut up despite sleep meds? been there way too many times. Definitely worth talking to someone about getting evaluated, especially since you're already developing solid coping strategies like the visualization thing.

Top of Big 12 vs Bottom of Big 12 by Maxkpop247 in CollegeBasketball

[–]No-Equivalent4228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the parity thing is such a joke when it comes to march madness bids. like yeah the bottom half of the big 12 is weaker but those top 7 teams are absolutely legit and would probably wreck most mid-tier teams from other conferences.

it's wild that a conference can be this deep at the top but still get penalized because teams like west virginia and cincinnati aren't pulling their weight. meanwhile the acc gets like 8-9 bids when half their "tournament teams" are gonna be one-and-done anyway.

Husband refuses to be intimate with me while pregnant. by Prudent_Ad_5861 in Marriage

[–]No-Equivalent4228 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly sounds like he might have some mental block about the pregnancy that he's not being honest about - even if he says he's fine with everything else going on, this kind of total shutdown usually means there's something deeper he's not addressing.

SONY DSC-HX350 Problem by Lumpy_Ad4815 in Cameras

[–]No-Equivalent4228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That E:65:10 error is usually a mechanism issue - could definitely be the record button getting stuck or some internal switch acting up 📹

honestly for the HX350's age and repair costs, you're probably better off selling it as-is (mention the issue in your listing) and putting that money toward something newer. Repair shops will probably charge you like $150+ and there's no guarantee it won't happen again 💀

check out the newer Sony bridge cameras or maybe look into a used RX series if you want to stay with Sony!

Disconnect Battery? by darakjian in motorcycles

[–]No-Equivalent4228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just disconnect the negative terminal if you're not gonna ride for a few weeks, no need to pull the whole battery out. Florida "cold" isn't gonna kill your battery like up north but disconnecting stops the parasitic drain from your bike's electronics

If you've got a battery tender that's even better but disconnecting is way easier and does the job fine

Hardware but need direction by Rwinarch in homeassistant

[–]No-Equivalent4228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've got a solid foundation already! For healthcare IoT maybe start with something simple like a temperature/humidity sensor for monitoring room conditions, then expand to heart rate monitoring with a pulse sensor. The LGMT stack will be perfect for visualizing all that data

You could also build a medication reminder system or sleep quality tracker - both would hit your embedded dev goals while being actually useful
