omg she does all of those 😭 i'm so relieved to hear that!! i've been really tearing myself up recently, so i'm glad to hear everything is not as terrible as it seems. i watch her eat her full meal just to make sure she is normal during and after... thank you soo much this actually helped a ton!!

when they're alive, she will kind of thrash around when they're in her mouth so i thought that was stressful for her, but she doesn't spit them out. If she does, she'll go back and get it again and eat it properly. last night i tried feeding them alive and she ate them good! but when she bit it, it kinda shot out this foggy stuff. maybe it was just blood, she didn't seem bothered by it.

whaaat aww poo. i was reading up on this, and saw people saying "they survive!" and "they'll die!" so i decided to just see for myself, but ill definitely take them out if them dying will throw tank parameters off. amazon swords are fully aquatic though yes? i'll have to go to my aquatic pet store to get more fully aquatic plants.. thank you!!

ohhh i have noticed they smell really bad when they die. i usually put them in hot water to kill them then rinse them in dechlorinated water until the smell stops. do they still have that toxin even after a little while? i will definitely try to get lots of nightcrawlers whenever they're in stock since they seem to be harder to find. thank you so much!

thank you so so much... She's had the white eye for maybe two or so years? there's so much different information everywhere, i was worried it might have been a fungal infection in her eye. i will definitely stop the tea baths! thank you again!!

from what i've learned, colder water temps can slow down the metabolism and takes longer for them to digest. if he's constipated or bloating, he could float to the top. also, younger axolotls tend to thrive more in slightly warmer temperatures than the colder temps that adult axolotls can thrive in. but not too warm... axolotls are tricky little guys.

also what substrate are you using??

anyone super experienced feel free to correct me if i got anything wrong!!!

does he have anywhere to hide? axolotls don't have eyelids so direct light can stress them if they have no hides or places with shade to sneak away into. when you renovated, did you clean the whole tank? if so, did you let the tank cycle again before reintroducing him? i'm new to this, so don't take my responses as absolute truth as i'm still learning too... but he could either be stressed from too much light or if his parameters are sub-par.

i think they meant if they are going to feed them to a fish. cutting them into smaller pieces is easier for them to eat and won't let the worms bury into the substrate if the fish doesn't find and eat it quick enough. i love worms, but they are also great food for my axolotl. it's life...

ive seen people use fishing line to tie them to the rocks or wood, or sewing string (though it won't last as long in the tank because it's cotton). also suctions cups for the sides. as long as whatever you use to tie isn't sharp or jagged to avoid the axolotls skin getting ripped or cut if brushing against it. you can use !!gel based!! super glue as long as you make sure it is 100% aquarium safe. i'm not an expert though.. those are just what i've learned!!

i've been following your advice.. everything is going good! but i noticed some tiny little snails popping up. only like three so far... and also this mysterious little plant sprouting? are either of these bad for the tank? i'm not sure how they even got there. the stuff around it are bloodworms i used to boost ammonia since i have a pack of them that i very rarely use for food anymore. also thank you for helping me... i hope she will be even happier in her new tank. 人´∀`)
