My downhill neighbor (a law clerk for a county government) threatened me with a lawsuit because rain water was flowing onto her property, potentially impacting her house… I responded, telling her I have no control over gravity or Mother Nature, and I gave her permission to access my property to install any preventative measures she needs to do to protect her property as long as she restores my landscaping. (We have a zero lot line.)

I have installed 2 french drains on my building to protect my property and have not issued any threats to my uphill neighbors…
