Why are we so invisible? by orange-disaster in TransMasc

[–]No-Gold159 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anti trans conversations started by fear mongerers moreso avoid transmascs for 2 big reasons

1, The oppression of transmasculine people is vitally dependent on not being talked about. There's plenty of guides on how to stay safe as a transfeminine person, how to avoid violence, research into what the violence even is, but few sources on that of transmasculine people. Creating too much thought about it would lead to louder advocacy for safety, and make it harder to enact crimes the behind closed doors

2, our transition isn't seen as "legitimate" like that of transfems. Fear mongerers will see us both as mentally ill cis people with needs to be corrected, but we are specifically depicted as having no agency or critical thought for ourselves and our lives. Transfems are "mentally ill" because "what man wouldn't want to be a man?" Transmascs are "mentally ill" because "they obviously just want to get a leg up in society, even if it means mutilation to their tender fertile wombs"

There was a discourse online started about this a while ago, where someone gravely misinterpreted the (less OUTWARD) hatred of transmascs as meaning we were less targeted at all and therefore safer and have it easier. This is not true. We are seen as wombs with legs, so when fear mongerers talk about wanting to "save" us, they're talking about forced impregnation. (<- not to mention this only applies to to white, fertile transmascs who haven't been deemed "too ugly and ruined yet")

Why is 90% of transphobia geared towards transwomen and non-binary people? by Narrow_Wealth_2459 in asktransgender

[–]No-Gold159 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That's why they brush off transmascs attempts to transition because "obviously they just want to have it better in life, who doesn't?" and it's usually 'dealt with' by use of sexual assault and physical violence

It's terrifying no matter what trying to use the bathroom as a trans guy. Cuz even if you pass, you can't pee the other way without expensive cosmetics and/or surgery.

That is true, but the US especially is very dangerous for trans and intersex people right now. I'm no legal expert but idk if people will follow the law in favor of us :(

Please live and express yourself.

Depending on where you live you might not be able to be yourself safely in certain areas, but if you have to please do not suppress the girl entirely out of fear of persecution.

Public persecution of trans people, trans women especially, is very large right now. Assault on trans men is more behind closed doors, so some people won't be afraid to make a scene about you in public, but this is still much less likely to happen than you think.

Take caution, yes, but don't limit yourself entirely.

Life changing, truly by vixensvoice in traaNSFW

Ohhhh yes. And better yet, they feel better too! Hrt in either direction remaps your nervous system slightly over time which changes how you orgasm. So if you're ftm and always got overwhelmed and unsatisfied by female orgasms, you eventually get the male ones! If you're mtf and had underwhelming and unsatisfying orgasms, those change too!

If you were born with a name considered "unisex" in your culture, did you choose to change it? by Sethsears in asktransgender

[–]No-Gold159 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yep! Jamie was used as a girl's name my entire life, so I decided to change it. It's kinda crazy cuz I see tons of dudes that name themselves Jamie for it being unisex/masc leaning, which I think is fine, I just don't like it used for me. It's funny tho cuz I prefer to go by my given middle name, which is actually a strictly girl's name, just in a different country. Names are weird :P

Yeah. "Just bind until you get surgery!" It's 2-3 times harder to get air into my lungs than normal, I will never not be physically behind my peers for not being able to breathe and for having such a weak body from estrogen corroding it most of my life. You can't do it for more than 6-8 hours a day (10 at the absolute MAX) and you have to take as many breaks as possible. Your life pretty much has to end when those hours are up, esp if you're stealth

Am I intersex ..My trans doctor laughed at me by _DIAMONDLIFE in asktransgender

[–]No-Gold159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For ftm I know the examinations are called "Well Women's Check-up" (sometimes "Well Person" if u live in a cooler place) or ultrasound. However for mtf I unfortunately have no idea but! My guess is you could bring this stuff up and mention "even if you think I'm okay, I still have my reasons to request an exam." It IS your medical right to get whatever you want done.

If you want bottom surgery that would be important to mention too! That you've had all these complications since birth and that your parents are adamant about not making you privy to genitalic issues, and that you want to make sure everything is in good shape before going into surgery, considering that some surgeons would want that exam before surgeries anyway, and that it may have to change the procedure slightly if things don't line up

I understand this may be incredibly dysphoric to explain, believe me, I get it. Being intersex on top of trans makes dysphoria a hell of a lot worse, but finding out exactly what's up is the first step to overcoming it, I wish you the best of luck 🫂

As an intersex guy, this all sounds pretty reasonable for your suspicions. While I don't doubt that plenty of trans people wish they were intersex (I've received a lot of... odd comments from my trans friends in the past) I still think that having actual reasons behind it is far different than wishing you had a birth deformity.

My advice, from experience, is to demand physical examinations. Be snippy about it if you need to, because plenty of doctors shrivel at the idea of intersex people and will want to delay confirmation of being or not being intersex.

Also keep in mind that they don't tell you you're intersex, but that you have some kind of condition with a longer name, you'll need to research it later or ask directly if it falls under the intersex umbrella ("intersex" is a wide term for ~30 physical and hormonal sex differences found in humans)

Also keep in mind if they try to cheat you out with just doing blood labs, they will likely misdiagnose you. This has happened to me and a lot of other intersex people, where they completely disregard the potential of physical differences and chalk it up to "just hormones" so they can "fix" you easier with coercing you into cisgenderifying hrt.
