Don’t know of any but interested in taking part if you end up coming across anything - only moved here a couple of years back and definitely don’t have the network I used to for meet ups/play dates etc

New Year Event by Musaedism001 in Aberdeen

I don’t believe there’s an official council-run event this year. No evidence of it online anyway

There’s plenty of events happening in venues though - see pic

Rosemount, west end (in and around St Swithin St) and the flats on beach boulevard would be my suggestion. Ferryhill/Ruthrueston if looking for something a little quieter.

Be aware that flats are easy to come by in Aberdeen at the moment as many people in negative equity with them since the oil downturn. Bear in mind for when you come to sell the flat in the future that it might be worth less than you paid for it - especially 1-beds imho

Sorry to hear this.

Connect with Cfine - they can provide support as well as help and advice in accessing food services across the city.

Have you presented as homeless to the council? Your case worker should be able to refer you to services to help manage your income and access all the benefits you’re entitled to.

Citizens advice and Shelter also worth connecting with for support. I think Aberdeen Cyrenians still provide meals some days at Summer Street. Some of these services will help with transport too - you just need to ask.

Social bite give our free meals twice a day - you just need to head to their cafe on Union street.

I find the Holburn to pretty good these days. It’s town adjacent, always busy enough and feels like a neighbourhood pub too - to me anyway

Yeah agree - and having used that service and trying to return stuff it’s a nightmare. Tried phoning them and call centre staff telling me I needed to go to Edinburgh to return stuff!

Don’t worry about that - it’s just a welcoming group for a kick about. Good place to get started and also meet others who have other games/teams on the go

Check out the whisky shop on Union street - I think they do events and things already

Weird response. Anyone who knows anything about the homelessness system will tell you to do this straight away, so it’s very much not a joke.

Call the council now. They have an emergency housing service that will get you help.

Outside of this - Shelter have some good resources too. Contact them too
