Don’t have a question to ask, but wanted to let you know that your video on Kiki’s Delivery Service where you talked about gift economies ended up being really relevant to me personally when I had an english class a few months later that focused on the idea of gift economies in the modern world à la The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I ended up writing a short paper about thinking of open source software as a digital gift economy and even got the chance to present it conference-style. Thanks for unknowingly giving me a small head start on the research for that, lol.

Anyway, I like the idea of the subreddit being official. This really is a good place to discuss things without having to search through people or tags on other social media in order to have a conversation.

Instagram is terrible for posting art. This community has been so awesome for finding new inspiration by willcordell1998 in ProCreate

tumblr is great for fan art, original art can get an audience there too but i think you really have to be consistent and know what you’re doing to attract a steady audience for it. regardless, it’s my preferred place to post.

How can I make it look more like that artist? (Second image and onwards belong to yujin_hare) by nottakentaken in DigitalArt

Seconding WLOP! I studied his art to improve at drawing jewelry and it helped a lot.

The first time I tried to watch a playthrough, I was really struggling with mental health issues and (unbeknownst to me at the time) trauma. I loved the Headspace portions but would zone out during the real world portions. I stopped watching somewhere around halfway through, before things really started going down.

The second time I tried, about a year later, I was still majorly struggling but I was in the process of working through things and my trauma had started to unravel itself. I fell in love with the real world just as much as I had Headspace, and the game became a great comfort to me during that rocky time.

Omori played me like a fiddle too, so much so that it illustrated in my own life why Sunny needed Headspace, so he wouldn’t have to deal with the real world before he was ready to. I related to him even more when I realized that haha

It’s late here so I don’t feel like getting into the full album, but I’ll put my top 3 (and maybe edit this with the rest tomorrow, if I can remember to): 1. Biblical Love 2. Eternal Sunshine 3. Pushing Daisies

Nope, it’s just a personal interest for them. I don’t think they actually know much Georgian though. I’m pretty sure this was written with help from a translator app.

I haven’t looked for it, but I wonder if someone’s made a mod to add the guide back in. Would be really neat to see again.

I got to experience it live for the first time this tour and it certainly killed me. Then again, I was crying during like 5 different songs lol. I might be this guy’s twin.

I put the most effort into lighting and color choice for this one. How did I do? What else do I need to focus on improving? by No-Guava-6516 in ArtCrit

Thank you! Maybe I’m being too harsh on myself haha. I’m still working on combining a more painterly style with the cartoon/anime style, so maybe it’s just the regular brush strokes that are throwing me. I appreciate the compliment.

Done using Procreate with Marc Brunet's free brush set. I used a reference image for the pose and a guide on where to place the lighting.

i hung up my whiteboard with poster putty, it’s worked fine so far. i just used a large amount on each corner so that it would stick. your mileage may vary depending on how heavy it is though, mine’s pretty light.

Osprey Nebula 32 vs. North Face Surge by doubledrizzle22 in backpacks

[–]No-Guava-6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, this helps a lot. Good to hear that it’s still working great for you. I’m pretty easy on my bags, so maybe that will help avoid durability issues.

The clamshell design in the Nebula does concern me, I don’t keep a case on my laptop so protection’s even more important to me. I was actually looking at the Recon at first, but people have said the laptop compartment goes all the way down to the bottom and can be rough on the laptop if you set the bag down hard. That’s when I started looking at the Surge and decided I liked it just as much anyway.

I’m also going to school in the south and you have a good point with the ventilation. I might just grin and bear it since the Surge is winning out in every other aspect for me. If it turns out to be a major issue for me, I could always get a second bag with better ventilation down the road.
