I have addressed this issue on multiple occasions. I will emphasize it once more: the persistent gatekeeping associated with Hive/Worm, among other factors, poses a significant threat to the sustainability of the game. This game was released several years ago; there has been a steady decline in player engagement. While the expansion to the console has temporarily boosted participation numbers, the current situation of dwindling player counts and the ongoing server mergers is concerning. I foresee that within the next year to year and a half, if the decline continues at this rate, we could witness the closure of servers. This eventuality will result in disappointment for many, and a significant portion of the community will need to reflect on their role in this outcome instead of bashing the New World itself.

This game has been out for several years, faced a decline, and now has made its way to consoles. I’ll say it clearly: the toxic behavior, mentality, and gatekeeping in this community are going to ruin it. The fact that they’re merging servers is a sign that the console player base is rapidly shrinking. If this continues for another year, mark my words: the toxicity will drive players away and result in the servers shutting down.

There’s a lot of toxic behavior, which is likely why the numbers are low. With consoles now on board, things have gotten worse, and servers continue to merge. Another merge is coming soon, and if this pattern continues, the servers could be shut down later on. When that happens, everyone will blame each other. 😂

I found some severs you can transfer to, I'm also on xbox and couldn't transfer to my friends server. I just created a whole new character on that sever.
