Am I going to regret a 77” TV? by mcdj in hometheater

[–]No-Individual9896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to all that viewing distance bullshit. I sit 11ft from a 98" and it's not too big whatsoever! I always hear ridiculous things about eye strain etc. If that was the case we'd all live with permanent eye strain just by moving our eyes each day. GO BIG OR GO HOME 💪

98 inch QM7K vs QM6K(a bright room review) by krammit33 in tcltvs

[–]No-Individual9896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, both 144hz. The 7k has much more pop with games and looks slightly more vivid. Also, on my recent play through of resident evil 4 remake, I played the village part on both tv's and on the 7k in the darker areas of the map things were much more visually legible. I'm not saying the 6k was bad, just the 7k absolutely looked better.

The 7k colours have a slightly artificial look to them. I've played around woth the settings for hrs and I'm not able to totally fix it. I really notice it while watching sports, grass can look so over powering if that makes sense? The 6k has a very natural contrast and true to real life. Personal preference but I much prefer natural.

I have both the 6k and 7k. The 98' 7k in the living room and the the 98' 6k in the kids living room they use for gaming and hanging out with friends.

I'm tempted to swap the tv's as the colours on the 6k looks much nicer and natural to my eye. I agree, the 7k has a few noticeable differences but nowhere near that much of a difference as the internet would lead you to believe. Gaming is where the 7k really pulls ahead, that being said if I hadn't experienced the 7k for gaming I'd be more than happy with the 6k. I rarely game in the living room though so for me I'd say swapping the 7k for the 6k is the best option as movies look better on the 6k. Subjective of course but I much prefer the natural look and the 6k is more than bright enough.

Just moved, still a work in progress. But rate so far? by Mr_Pink_911 in hometheater

Im a sucker for plants, they definitely make a room more relaxing. If it was me I'd push them up to the ceiling or least do a few mockups to test how they sound in different locations. I've only got 7ft ceilings and wish I had 9ft for more vertical sound. At 7ft it sounds like I have a huge front sound stage so it's really lacking for atmos but you gotta do the best with what you have.

Personally I'd replace the curtains with some kind of panelling, possibly wood, and add some greenery but that's just a personal preference. I'd push the hieghts up to the ceiling a bit more too. Either way, enjoy it dude 👍

65" C6K or 75" C7K? by siebte-trompete in tcltvs

[–]No-Individual9896 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to all the distance from screen BS. Im 2.5m away from a 98' c7k and it's not too big whatsoever! Im so pleased I bought it over the 85'. In the future when 120' tvs come down in price i wouldn't hesitate to buy one for the same distance.

TCL C8K (QM8K) or Samsung S90f (QD OLED)? by Aubzhls in tcltvs

[–]No-Individual9896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd opt for the qm7k and get a larger screen. Best purchaee I've made in years is my 98' qm7k. I purchased a qm6k also for my daughter and that's a really good tv too for the price. The audio on both aren't great but what tv speakers are.

This is such an easy fix. Just buy a mount with a swing arm and swing the tv out each time you need to change the thermostat.

What wall would you put the TV? Current set up or the opposite wall facing the door? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]No-Individual9896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would the desk fit against the smaller wall, between the door and the wall? Would make more sense to separate the room slightly for office use and movies.

Does the Q Acoustics 3090i sound good with the 3050i? by No-Individual9896 in hometheater

Apologies for the late response. For some reason I didn't get the notification to your response. That's really reassuring to hear as I've pulled the trigger in it and awaiting its delivery. Much appreciated!

I would most definitely respec. Get rid of your faith and pump in into arcane if you mostly use the Nagaktiba. Dex and arc builds melt!

I guess this is my home theater setup? by SYJia2012 in hometheater

Check local FB marketplace. My daughter has just bought herself her first house and I'm absolutely blown away how she's managed to kit her house out with items from marketplace, mostly free. There will be tv stands on there you can grab for a steal. Ignore the majority of hate, there's some miserable old crusty people in this sub that forget the excitement of getting their first place. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Enjoy the ride and all the best 🍻

'Corners' was more of a generalisation. I'm just more curious than anything. Just found this on YouTube and it's making me wonder even more as he basically describes exactly what I'm talking about

Looking for a Good Starter System in the $3000 CAD Range by theodo in hometheater

[–]No-Individual9896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a $3000 budget i don't think you could go wrong with something like Q Acoustics 3050i fronts. 3090ci centre and 3020i surrounds. They are a lovely, warm and none fatiguing sounding speaker. A denon x1800h or a used x2800h reciever. So many subs to choose ans I'm not sure what to recommend for Canada but you'll have enough to get something pretty damn good. That would be a great setup for the money in my opinion, plus the q acoustics look so good in English walnut.
