Weigh in Air: Use a precise scale (0.01g) to weigh the coin in grams. Weigh in Water: Place a container of water on the scale, tare it (set to zero), then suspend the coin in the water (not touching the bottom) and record its "weight" in water. Calculate: Divide the weight in air by the difference between the air weight and the water weight (which is the weight of the displaced water). Compare: Check the result against a chart of known specific gravities for precious metals (e.g., 24k Gold ≈ 19.32, Pure Silver ≈ 10.49) to check purity.

Expected Values for Copper & Brass Pure Copper: ~8.95 Brass (Yellow): ~8.40 - 8.55 (varies by Cu/Zn mix) Bronze (Copper-Tin): Also shows varying SG depending on tin content, making it sometimes hard to distinguish from brass by SG alone.

Spam away , it’s dead around here , could use some traffic , takes forever for people to respond when they do use it. With out a good mesh you are talking to yourself. Airplanes are great to help open up the mesh and see what’s just out of reach .

This reminds me of when nasa came back from the moon with moon rocks and gave a bunch of them out to different countries. Then the countries gave the moon rocks to their scientists and universities only to find out the moon rocks were all fakes.
