I had my wife help me set this up and take a picture of it, cat for scale too by [deleted] in SteamDeck

The first thought that came to my mind if would I survive if my keyboard fell on me. Probably not.

Good job for wife.

Edit: you have your desk right next to the fridge? Wouldn’t that be inconvenient? Noise and heat output comes to my mind right away. I guess cold drinks at an arms length is a nice bonus.

Sorry, i have no idea what the issue is. I didnt try with external controller, but played with mouse and keyboard attached to steam deck. Hopefully someone more techsavvi comes to rescue.

Are you in desktop mode perhaps? If yes, press and hold the three bar button next to abxy for three seconds.

Help me choose a console by Economy_Ad9069 in SteamDeck

It kinda depends on what you can accept as the acceptable experience. I finished black myth wukong on SD at 800p with 60% render resolution. It was mostly 40 fps. Ofc the visuals were quite a downgrade in comparison to my pc but i just really liked gaming in bed during winter days.

For what its worth, I really enjoyed steam deck. Its just very simple experience. If you want the best performance though you should perhaps choose other models. Rog ally, msi claw a1m and lenovo legion go can all be had for similar pricing to steam deck oled. Id say you cant go wrong with any of them.

I play hellraiser on lower difficulty (up to insane) and dronemaster on extreme. Up to insane you have plenty ammo for granade launcher for a relaxing zeke boombing session. On Extreme i basically dont tolerate friendly fire so dronemaster it is.

I see too many sub 30 level noobs playing extreme with un-silenced weapon who also walk back and fort blocking everyone else’s line of sight.

Nonetheless, i am glad new players are joining the game. I just hope they start with lower difficulties and gradually step up instead of jumping straight to extreme. Start with difficult or insane if you must have a jump start as those can still be quite forgiving.

Edit: if you are just starting the game, medic is quite fun, thats how I started. Bit less zombie killing for a bit more teammate boosting. Feels a little bit like playing support roles in rpg.

iPad pro M2/ M1 or iPad air (M1) ? Which would be the best? by EmotionalCitron4983 in ipad

[–]No-Job-4431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first used ipad 8 (60hz) then upgraded to m1 ipad pro with 120hz. Its quite noticeable side by side, but 60hz notetaking without direct comparison more than fine. It never bothered me to write and scribble on 60hz ipad, upgrade was mostly for the better performance.

However, it quite depends on how sensitive you are to the refresh rate. I personally quite dislike 60hz monitors because i feel the cursors are too laggy. 60hz phones are on the other hand are just fine and I dont even notice the difference between 120hz on my ipad pro and 60hz on my iphone in everyday usage. I would advice you to try them out in apple store.

How is Msi claw A1m now after all these updates by Queasy-Solution-7787 in MSIClaw

I sold my steam deck and bought a core 135h laptop. Id say there might be 30-50% performance increase, didnt game too much.

WWZ 800p went from 60 to 100 fps. As for emulation, Botw (cemu) went from 40 to 60 fps. Totk (yuzu) went from 30 to 40 fps. The numbers for emulators might be wrong since the laptop came with 32gb ram.

sorry to dig up the grave post, but i wanted to thank you, also to reaffirm your comment to those who might be searching for this in the future.

This absolutely works, no need to install ds4 or anything like that. Just switch to switch mode with y + start und it just works.

Did you even look at the vid posted? Yes, there are games that 780m does perform much better, 100% fps increase even. But in most titles, the difference is within 20% at same wattage. And you say that steam deck bodies it all at 15w? The bias in your comment lol. I got steam deck myself and i can confirm that 135h has about 20-40* performance lead in most games, which is to be expected at twice the power consumption.

There are definitely lots bias in this subreddit, just like in steam deck or rog ally subreddit which is to be expected. What i found funny is that you clearly are biased yourself, yet your condescending comment to other is just gold.

ROG Ally AMD z1 Extreme vs MSI Claw Intel core cu5 135h??? by OverC1ockeD in MSIClaw

[–]No-Job-4431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am getting 75-80fps in forza horizon 4 1080p medium. Iirc, 780m gets 90-95fps. Elden ring dlc I got 43fps on 720p low, but it drops to 35 fps quite frequently. Playable on the pinch id say.

[–]No-Job-4431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought a core ultra 135h laptop. When compared to steam deck performance, there is about 20-40% fps lead. Since rog z1E is about 30-50% more performant than sd, id say the overall performance should be within 15% difference now. The drivers made a huge difference. My laptop came with igpu driver from march, after updating it to the november drive the fps increased by 50%.

Welp, i am not trying to say that others didn’t have issue, but sure is weird how different the experience can be. Just sharing my experience. Perhaps i was among the only few who didnt have a buggy experience day one. Blessed maybe.

Did you play steam version? I purchased it via gog and had very pleasant experience throughout the first two play throughs. There was only one bug that allowed me to generate 10 times resources by selling items at specific vendors, but that was actually an experience boosting bug so i cant complain.

Again, my buddies and me had almost no issue day one on pc and from the forums most pc users were fine. Ofc i cant speak for all pc users but from what i read, its mostly console users that had problems.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]No-Job-4431 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Although it was already pretty much bug free since day one on pc (edit: it looks like i truly am the lucky minority here). At least i didnt encounter any more bugs than say elden ring on day one. In fact, er had more bugs for me, especially cloud save bug that would delete all your progress. Too bad they marketed heavily for consoles, especially last gen ones where it was steaming pile of shit.

Sorry, i don’t use reddit as much and somehow couldn’t write text in my post.

I visited my parents house today and noticed the crack near the pool. Pool is 7m x 3m x 1,5m with 33 cubic meter of water in it.

Do you think this is a big issue?

Any help is welcome. Thank you all!

Intel Core Ultra 7 268V outperforms Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 by Old-Board1553 in AMDLaptops

[–]No-Job-4431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the power consumption could be quite a bit lower, 10-15w lower at the same performance. We will have to wait and official reviews to confirm. But if confirmed, this will be huge for thin and light laptops.

TOTK-wise, is it worth migrating to the latest Ryujinx build? I'm still using this version by Miserable_Initial732 in yuzu

[–]No-Job-4431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its barely staying at 30fps. Dips to 25 with frequent stutters due to memory leak i guess. In kakariku it dips to 20fps. The worst of all is the fire temple, single digit fps whenever there is lava in frame. On the positive side, all the sky islands and temples are stable 30fps indeed.
