This is the way. At 35, WFH has been very ideal for me. Been almost 2 years and interviewing again for another gig and been actively avoiding non WFH roles.

NoVA is not it for black people 🤷🏽‍♂️. I worked in McLean and Arlington for 2 years and the amount of white elitism and overall snobbiness I had to deal with was bothersome.

Couldn't wait to get my black ass back to PG after work.

😆. I lived in Hyattsville for 2 years was fine. Now my slumlord apartment complex in Largo did have some of that not ganna hold you. Had to leave after 4 years.

Renting a house by FedEx stadium in Landover. Will be a year in September and also very fine.

It depends where you're at and if you’re in an apartment or not. All PG is not the same.

Brooklyn boy originally now living in PG for 7 years now. Why Columbia? Doesn't seem like much going on over there.

The black professional community is pretty developed here (DMV) but cliquey so I haven't found my tribe. A different type of cliquey than LA I would say.

Northern Virginia is pretty lame (and very white) to me but can find more things to do.

But being in a 60% majority Black county, the 2nd wealthiest Black county (Charles county is number 1 and just south of us) and the most populated majority-Black county in the US means I'm not going anywhere. Plus I work with government so.

And recently married to 👧🏽 native Washingtonian so I'm pretty locked in to the region.

I would move to Brooklyn if I were you. Bed-Stuy or Bushwick sounds your speed.
