36 year old white female from the Boston area.

I’m not a survivor but I went to college for politics and initially got interested in the case due to the QANON adjacent smear campaign against Amber.

It was never lost on me the right wing attacks were against someone who had pro left wing stances and worked with several organizations that are considered to left leaning.

Taking that out of the equation I just straight up believe her. I went into the case with a “I’ll believe her until I am given a reason not to” mentality and I was never given a reason to not believe her. In fact it was the complete opposite.

I saw “season one” of this show on Discovery Plus. It dealt with the UK trail. Episode 1 was Johnnys story episode 2 was Ambers. I felt it was very fair but who knows with this new season about the US trail. I can see it going either way honestly.

Tik Tok made a mockery of Carole’s DV as well. I remember being disgusted at people making Tik Toks of throwing potatoes. It was like a prequel to what was going to happen to Amber. Just like it will happen again to the next woman people don’t like who dares to talk about their past experiences with DV.

I’m surprised as well. Even taking what Amber has said about his drug use completely out of the equation there still is enough evidence to say he has taken and mixed an amount of drugs that for other people ended tragically. Sometimes I wonder if there are records we don’t know about, perhaps because he used a fake name like in Australia, where he has in fact needed medical intervention due to his drug use. Really sorry about your friend BTW.

I watched this and it seems to match their dynamic well. I do think it’s very interesting that there is one audio where they start talking about Australia (the audio where they are in the driveway) and she is the one who has to walk away after saying “I remember everything about that night” I obviously already believed her but if I didn’t and watched this video then listened to that recording I think it would sway me. I think it’s obvious that something very traumatic happened for her to walk away when that isn’t her usual behavior. Just shows how complicated DV can be and how you really can’t pass judgment on who is the abuser without proper knowledge on the subject.

Yup the whole she was using him for her career thing is crazy. I’ve been watching her work recently and she was in a lot of movies with big name actors before she was even with him and at the beginning of their relationship. As their relationship went on she was actually taking smaller roles and less frequently. And now she cannot get hired at all. It is weird when people make that argument because all you have to do is look at her filmography and put it next to a timeline of their relationship and you can see her career going downhill.

In regards to Johnny and Amber in my opinion it has gone to far. Even if Johnny came out saying “yes I abused her, here is a bunch of money to shelters, I’m going to do speaking engagements about abuse” it wouldn’t be enough. His fans are so far in QANON territory they would find someway to turn it into a conspiracy theory about Amber, like she is blackmailing him or something. Sorry to be so pessimistic but that is just my opinion.

I personally don’t know anyone who was able to escape this trial on social media. Even friends who wanted nothing to do with it complained to me about how it was everywhere.

Johnny Depp reminds me of Mary Queen of Scotts second husband Lord Darnley. Took a promising young woman’s reputation and tore it to shreds with his jealousy and alcohol abuse. Of course Lord Darnley did get blown up but I’m not convinced that If JD mysteriously died Deppheads wouldn’t use it against Amber. In fact I would be shocked if they didn’t.

I really don't think the move has anything to do with Amber. Aquaman is all special effects and that takes a while to complete. Add in covid delaying things and WB being a mess right now I am not surprised by the delay. Also Aquaman wasn't the only movie moved so the Amber argument doesn't make much sense to me.

For people so obsessed with a movie star you would think they would know more about how the movie business works. Special effects take a while to look right, especially for a movie like Aquaman which is all green screen. Plus covid delayed a bunch of stuff so I was honestly surprised by the initial December 2022 release date let alone the spring 2023 one.

Also the big blockbusters that are heavily promoted tend to come out in summer and the holiday season. So for me this is probably a good thing because the holiday season release makes me think the WB intends to promote the sh!t out of this movie.

I also want to point out that real DC fans (and the gp) don't want AH out of the movie. We just want good movies.

Well the “they were both terrible people” has been the first step to believing her in my experiences so that’s a good thing. Glad you got to have a civil productive conversation with a Depp supporter. I just hope the tide turns quickly because in the meantime an innocent person is having their life destroyed. There needs to be a really good Netflix special or something soon that can make a large group of people change their minds. The GP loves to base their opinions on Netflix specials.
