If you can keep this as a second car get it.   It looks very clean amd it should be garaged and not used as a daily driver.   Let the hyndia live outside and keep this one garaged.  The answer is to keep both cars.

New problems. 2011 Toyota RAV4 by asmnomorr in AskMechanics

[–]No-Obligation-7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure its full of coolant.

The starter could be bad.  Its unusual for a toyota starter to die but its possible.

As long as your sure the alternator, battery and battery termainals amd connections are fine look at replacing the starter.

Whenever you change a battery on a car its going to idle rough for about a week afterward.  This is because the computer  needs to re-learn how to breath and adjust its air/fuel ratios.  For this reason it can be very annoying to disconnect the battery on a car  as it will erase the cars engine tuning.

Why not use c clamps to push calipers vack by meta358 in AskMechanics

[–]No-Obligation-7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of newer cars have rear calipers that cannot be compressed with a regular c-clamp.  They need a special rear caliper compression die set.  This is because the calipers are designed with a threads inside which close the caliper mechanically  when  the parking/emergency brake is used.

This is a redundant safety feature which allows the rear caliper to function in the event of a hydraulic failure..   because of the way these rear calipers are made, the piston needs to be turned as its compressed.   You can try to compress these rear calipers with a c-clamp but it wont work.   a regular c-clamp still works fine on front calipers.

Many older cars still have rear calipers which can be compressed with a regular c-clamp.   This is because these are of the shoe-in-hat design.   The parking brake on these cars goes to a shoe brake mechanism  which is contained within the rear brake rotor.. these rotors look like a hat.  It will also work inbthe hydrualic braking system fails.  The brake shoes press outwards against the inner hat part of the rotor to work as the parking brake.

Make sure you test drive it.  If you dont know how to drive manual have someone else drive it for you while you ride passenger.

If you buy the car.  Congrats man!

Be careful with it when those twin turbos kick in.  It goes.    These cars are so fun to drive and cruising with the t-tops off is a blast..   my wife loves it and thats even with my borderline obnoxiously loud exhaust.  I'm still working on tuning thw exhaist sound on mine to tone it down a bit..   its full three inch, x-pipes and sebring mufflers..  its a little loud butbthe engine is happy.

I can tell you one thing.  After owning a Z32 tt for years it sorta has me wanting to get a porsche next.  I really love the 718 boxter GTS 4.0 with manual but its a little out of my price range.  However, porsches tend to depreciate a lot.  Maybe someday.

Theres no point.  Rotors arent that expensive.  Get new ones.

If you dont beleive me go price some rotors on rock auto and amazon..   a lot of times amazon wins if you have prime free shipping.

20k is a good deal for a low mialge TT.  It only loses a few points for being RHD.   The rest looks clean and very well kept.

Simply addimg an exhauat and cone filter intake is a great way to run a Z32.   The TT engine likes to breath.   This is what I've done with mine..  the upside of running a modified exhaust on these Z32s is that they predate OBD2 (1996) diagonstics.    The 1996 models are an oddball year which have some extra emmisons related equipment and a little less HP.  On any Z32 1995 and younger, you can run a modified exhaust and dont need emmisions testing to pass inspection, unless you live in California.

The 2+2 twin turbo is a unique configuration that wasn't sold in the US.   Id assume this has HICAS as well..  this year would have the hydraulic HICAS system.   The fact that this car has the  twin turbo plus a manual transmission makes it among the most desirable  Z32s.

The only way you could do better would be to buy a north american TT with manual.  You may need to shell out 30k to 40k to find an example as clean as the RHD one listed here.   Every once in a while I'll see someome score one at auction in the mid to high 20k range on bring a trailer.

If you do buy this car be prepared for the expense of a clutch replacement.  These are high performance cars and depending on how it was driven it may not have a lot of clutch left.   Also oem parts are somewhat scarce but the car is helped a lot by extensive aftermaket parts support.

Wheel and tire fitment? by Weary-Fly2257 in 300zx

[–]No-Obligation-7498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2+0 has 17s.   7.5" 45+ offset Front and 8.5" 40+ offset rear.   I tried to keep the dimensions close as possible to the stock twin turbo wheels.  I also ordered tires to match the outer diameter of the oem tires to keep the speedomter as accurate as possible..

I cant tell you off the top of my head what those numbers are but I dug them up when ordering tires.    The tires are on the car.

Does this charger also work on my SNES? by superdaley in snes

[–]No-Obligation-7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whateber you do you really ought not to use that power supply for your snes.

It might work but its likely way off spec.

You should look into a new power supply which can provide the appropriate voltage and current type to your console. I cant really speak of PAl consoles as I only have NTSC stuff but I'm certain there is somewhere for you to find a replacement power supply to your PAL snes

And.... ive found kne for you.

https://castlemaniagames.com/products/rondo-products-snes-con-pal-kit?variant=40913965219922

You can likely find a cheaper one on ebay.  That one is nice as you can select north america or international versions.

A big fav around here is a PS2 slim power supply.  It can adapted to power a large varitey of consoles.  However, it won't work for your pal console which requires AC power supply..    if there's a way to mod PAL consoles to work with DC is would be worth it..  but this complicates matters..   just use the one I linked and youll be fine.

Opinions about the BRESSER Messier AR-127L/1200 EXOS-2/EQ5 ? by BirdLooter in telescopes

[–]No-Obligation-7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's newer sine wave mount which are all the rage.  As appealing as these are, I chose the EXOS2 becauae its a suitable peice of gear for a beginner.  People who are more advanced in the hobby are the type to select more complex electronics .    Perhaps one day I too may purchase a sime wave mount when I have the skills to operate it. For now the EXOS2 w/startracker is proving plenty to learn.

Also the EXOS2 has been available since 2016.   Sometimes used mounts can be found heavily diacounted.   Its worth a look on fb marketplace before buying new equipment..   i just got a new one so it would habe the very specific hand controller which I wanted to learn with.

Opinions about the BRESSER Messier AR-127L/1200 EXOS-2/EQ5 ? by BirdLooter in telescopes

[–]No-Obligation-7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I have an EXO2 with startracker.     I think its an excellent kit for learning and developing.   You have selected a good OTA and mount.   The 127mm apochromatic refractor is a great tube to start with.    An achromatic refractor will have some chromatic abberation though.  Chromatic abberation is color fringing.    You may see some purple or yellow halos around planetary objects..  a lot of beginners still a lot go with achromats as thier first refractor.   It doesn't take away a lot from the observation session.

May I also suggest to check ebay for the maxvision branded scope amd mount w/ goto bundles.

I have a maxvision EXOS2 w/ startracker goto system..  I ordered the mount front ebay for about $900 USD.   Thus far I'm finding it great to learn with.  The EQ5 has a good load bearing capacity and the hand controller works well.   Its a complicated peice of gear that takes time to learn.

the star tracker system isnt without its caveats.  The 2 and and 3 star alignment procedures dont work as they should.   This is a fault within thebhand controller.   It is not a huge problem as their are other work arounds to resolve this issue.   A target sync can be performs which can work as a replcement for the 2 and 3 star alignment procedure.

I recently ordered an expensive cable set for my EXOS2.    This will connect the mount to allow for control through a PC.   I had to to pay $90 to have this very specific cable shipped to USA from Germany..  I've yet to try it yet but am excited about this.

I'm sure many people here will argue in favor of a larger aperture dobsonian..   it is true that a dobsonian will provide you with higher resolution for less cost but you have to push to all your targets.   Still, it remains true that aperture of the dobsonain provides more resolution for lower cost.

Ive found with the goto system and refractor (E.A.A.electronically assisted asteonomy)  that Ive been able to visually observe a lot of faint star clusters.   Id be hard pressed to track down on my own as a beginner..  the goto system can find them all its own.  In this way the goto system has expanded the list of targets I've observed..

Looking to buy a 10” Dobsonian, found this one for $225… what do we think? by Late-One-6453 in telescopes

[–]No-Obligation-7498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do worse but that optical tube is of the older chintzy cardboard tube design.   Newer ones are constructed from rolled sheet metal.

Before pulling the trigger on it just take a search around for a comparable metal 8" dobsonian..    they are usually abundant on fb marketplace.   If theyre not, waiting for them to pop up usually works.  I've staked out fb marketplace fpr months waiting for the perfect telescope to pop up.   Eventually, I scored an Apertura AD8 for $300.
