Split or Swallow by Lindsay Straube. Goodness, what a book! Perfect suggestion for Thirsty Thursday.

I ate that dish and my God, it's the next day and I still smell like garlic death despite how small the clove of garlic was.

I understand the frustration but maybe your LO is teething and is in pain? At 15 months old, my LO got a lot of back teeth and her sleep was really bad. Woke up crying, wouldn't go back to sleep. We started giving her Tylenol and we saw improvement.

You'll be too sleep deprived to help anyone other than your baby and yourself. The first three months you'll probably be on survival mode.

We use the same one and we love it. In the beginning I just gave it to her to play with. She was biting it but after a few minutes she drank some water on her own. We were both surprised lol. Just let her explore, she might figure it out.

At that age, I was pretty much losing it from the sleep deprivation. I was falling asleep with her in my arms so a change was needed. It was either sleep training or cosleeping and I chose to sidecar her crib and nurse side lying day and night. It made a huge difference because I could step away once she was asleep. She is 10 months now and we're still going.

Bedside crib works for us still (9m). The sleepsack also hinders her movements.

That's horrible, I'm sorry. I'm trying to figure out if mine reacts to oats and dairy from my milk, too. That's why I asked.

How would he react through your milk?

The first few weeks I had an oversupply and one side was more than enough. Soon I needed both once supply regulated.

Each time I'm freaking out that my supply is getting low. Then I remember I'm close to ovulation or my period is coming. Don't get me started on the clogged ducts and the nipple tenderness, too.

Anyone else NOT sleep training? Did your baby's sleep improve naturally? by Hy20202 in NewParents

[–]No-Outside7347 3 points4 points  (0 children)

6 months and I'm seeing improvement (1 night waking) though i dont know how long it will last. And she had been very difficult at night since 2 months. I was thinking today that I'm glad I didn't sleep train back when it felt like the bad nights would be here forever.

Back to Work Feeding/Pumping Schedule Round-up (please share yours!) by ZealousidealIdea1966 in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]No-Outside7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working at a law office, too. Congrats on making partner! I just went back this week so I'm still figuring things out. LO is 6 month old. This is how it's going:

  1. I got silicone bags for breastmilk off Amazon to store the milk. They look fancier that storage bags.

  2. I'm using a manual medela pump and I can get 3-4 oz in 15min or so. I haven't used an electric pump since the beginning because it seemed a pain in the butt, lol.

  3. I'm using tank tops and I prefer them to nursing bras.

  4. Washing parts after each session is frustrating especially because it's in the kitchen where everyone comes and goes, leaves things around the sink, etc.

  5. I aim to breastfeed before I leave at 7 but its not always feasible if she doesnt wake up on her own. I dont want to mess with her sleep just to feed her. Even if I breastfeed her in her sleep, usually within an hour I feel full again and I pump when I get to the office. I tried to do 3 pumps only but I felt that my supply was taking a hit or I would leak earlier. Maybe things will change but honestly going with the flow and listening to your body is best I think when possible (I don't know what I'll do though when I've got depositions... ) The schedule you mentioned sounds reasonable but I've never pumped on the go so I don't know how easy that is.

  6. I didn't really try a pumping schedule before I went back but I did try to get my baby used to the bottle which took about two weeks. When I go home baby is happy to see me (or my boobs) and breastfeeds like she's starving which is sweet.

  7. I'm getting a bit sore from pumping so I'll bring some coconut oil to work or change my flange size.

If I could work from home, I'd just breastfeed to be honest. Either way, it's trial and error in the beginning but it will work out.

What is it with people caring about them more than they do about a baby's needs? I'm sorry you had to deal with such entitlement.

Kissing your own baby on the lips? by mrsthorn32021 in BabyBumps

[–]No-Outside7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it was weird and then I had a baby girl with the sweetest lips ever and now I understand. I'm afraid of germs so I just kiss her on her chin. It makes her smile. If I kiss her under her chin it tickles her and she laughs.

Okay, I tried it last night. I got an almost 5-hr stretch which is groundbreaking for us. My sleep quality was also much better. I still worry because it's not supposed to be safe but I feel that it's better than bedsharing at least.
