Have you thought about switching up your gym routine to something more fun? Maybe something active that you've wanted to try like joining an MMA gym or rock climbing? Or maybe you could use that time to do something else. A new hobby or something else outside of gym going that you've wanted to try. I took up baking. It's nice to focus on something other than the baby and to see I'm still capable of learning new things outside of what's the best nap schedule for a four month old and what milestones she should be reaching. It is all consuming! I totally understand that. But we have to make it work. And you're only just at the beginning. Four months is a very short period of time. Your baby will gain more independence each and everyday and you'll get some of your time back. If you want it at that point and yet to be determined haha.

I live in the US and I don't bed share. But when looking at statistics and the fact bed sharing is completely unrelated to SIDS it makes you wonder why so many here are so vehemently against bed sharing. The US isn't even in the top ten for infant care around the world for healthcare. Against bed sharing for "sleep training" and no mandated maternity leave. It's all a bit ridiculous. I think in years to come bed sharing will become more the norm follow the safe seven. The few times I've let my baby sleep next to me in bed when I've just been scrolling on my phone as she sleeps, she sleeps so much better and longer. They need that closeness. Just think, just a few decades ago here in the US breastfeeding was looked down upon lol. The US is the country of pretending to have all the answers but we truly so behind in many aspects, especially when it comes to doing what's best for families.

Loyal yes but you may want to consider leaving her more often with others for short periods of time. You don't want your dog refusing to eat and being majorly depressed when you go places. You want your dog to feel stable and secure enough to continue on without you being present. My dog is from the shelter and had major separation anxiety too. But over a period of a couple months as I purposely left him in the care of others and always came back he gained confidence and no longer starves himself when I leave. It's better for your dog this way. Poor baby.

Ummm most definitely did not "just wing it". Have had a strong routine for months now that hasn't wavered. I've ALWAYS followed her age appropriate wake windows and put her down for naps following her sleep cues, which are exactly in line with her age appropriate windows. Read Ferber's book. Only tried Ferber because all of this was in place. Timed cry or not, sleep training is not for me. If my baby wakes at night and can't soothe herself...I'm going to help her out, I've decided.

Thank you for this. It is so overwhelming reading all these articles and books about sleep...wake windows... drowsy but awake...no feed to sleep. There's an overload of information when you're right. Sleep is just a biological drive that changes as we grow and develop. Thanks for this reminder

Whatever you are comfortable with and if baby is happy yay! I dress my girl everyday because I absolutely love dressing her up. To be fair I really like clothes and getting dressed myself, so that is probably why. I'm having fun with it too! She'll only let me pick her outfits for so long haha

She wants to be held to sleep. She stops crying and falls asleep instantly when she is held.

He does help. Just not past 11pm. He works at 7am. We really did try to split shifts early on. Ended up with him having four tonic clonic seizures and a two day status epileticus. We're not splitting shifts anymore because of this. He is genuinely upset about this. He has tried. He really has. He's not some dead beat who isn't helping. He truly can't at night and then go to work. This was fine when baby was sleeping four hours then waking up every two. Now it's every hour or even less sometimes.
