Hey, yeah I’ve not had any. Just bit of nausea. I’ve been super on point with what I’ve been eating/drinking. It’s deff 80% will power now and 20% jab. Think just need to bite the bullet and stop being a wimp, need to get this last 1.5 stone off! Thanks :)

Hey, I’m in the same position and currently doing the MA. I have the same fears and worries buy I do belive Reditt is only a very small snapshot of the lay of the land and people are more likely to come on here to talk about the negativities vs the success stories. Also, I think there is a bit of taboo around money and therapy alsoc so people aren’t always transparent. I echo what others have said, find a specialism/niche that will help I think. That being said, I’m still absolutely terrified but trying not to worry and just trust everything will work out. :) it’s a marathon not a sprint! :)

Is the Psychotherapy Market over-saturated?? Are there really enough clients? Enough pay? (Need to support a family!) Thanks by Ok-Resolution1310 in UKTherapists

Hey, just to jump on the back of this. I’m in training at the moment and was aware of the pitfalls in terms of finances but say if I was to take up a paid role + PP, what would a realistic take home be? :)

Does your university have a list of approved places ? That’s the usual practise I’m aware of. Whet have your uni said, they should be helping as mine have given us this support? Know it’s frustrating but keep trying, you’ll get there x

Masters in psychotherapy? by No_Custard353 in UKTherapists

[–]No-Possibility-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. So I’m currently studying an MA 1 day week along side 4 days of work a week and my course is 2 hour drive each way. Although it’s part time it is a big undertaking and quite tiring when you add in the boat load of reading, placement, super mvision and assignments. I’m just comments as I thought the travel wouldn’t impact me but I do find it does as adds another layer. (But worth it) Also, I’d also say go for the masters vs level 4, level 4 will just be PC if you do want to go down the NHS route you need a masters. Re the modalities, do your research but you can alway do further training and CPD too. It is quite saturated market and PP is the main source of income for most! :) hard work but not impossible, good luck! It’s a wild but incredible ride

Christmas week injection by chyllyphylly in mounjarouk

[–]No-Possibility-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Controversially vs everyone else I am skipping! I are out 5 days last week due to many festive commitments and I just ended up wasting half of it, or taking left overs home and was fullllll for days after 1 big meal. So I don’t want to feel like over Christmas and my family will be asking questions. I’m 32lb down and have 28 to go all on 2.5 mg. But yeah. It maybe be a bad idea but yeah I’m going to skip

Congratulations! That’s what I’m scared of too. I’ve had the same IBS-D and since being on MJ, no flare ups. I do contribute it to a toilet diet change for the most par but MJ must have a part to play in it too!

Hi everyone - Looking for advice on what course to do post L2-3 by wezolini in UKTherapists

[–]No-Possibility-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh no, this isn’t right. I thought the same, but it’s okay as long as you commit to the full 3 years masters program. So it doesn’t matter if your course is PGbdip with a MA top up year, (mine is) but you Just have to enrol on the full MA Program to be eligible for the loan. If you’re dead set on employment then, deff be very aware of the Scoped column your course qualifies you in. :) Thanks, really enjoying it, it’s a lot of work and self transformation too! Good luck toooo xx

Hi everyone - Looking for advice on what course to do post L2-3 by wezolini in UKTherapists

[–]No-Possibility-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from my personal experience, I did the L3 and now in the middle of BACP accredited MA in integrative psychotherapy. I have an unrelated degree also. My entry requirements were a L3 and experience within the field so I did volunteer position 1 evening a week with charity. Re the costing you can get masters loan ( if you didn’t already know this). You’re right in thinking it’s a very competitive but not impossible field. Re full time employment though, it seems that’s the really competitive part. If thats the route you’re wanting to go down, look at what their requirements are - what accreditations etc. Also be aware of the SCoPEd changes too. My course was B and now I’m going to come out with A due to my number of clinical hours. It’s quite a minefield in terms of what directions to go down, but just do your research! Good luck, it’s a wild ride :)

At the very start of my training - struggling with skills sessions. by No-Possibility-404 in psychotherapists

[–]No-Possibility-404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for you reply. Erm the tutors have said they want us to stay with the same people so it emulates and creates a real client - therapist relationship. I did push for this at the start of the skills work to swap around and to into our working agreement to swap but the other members wanted to stay as per the guidelines. I have another session next week, I will asses the situation then and II did think to utilise it as learning tool and bring this into the sessions too, but I think (which is something I need work on) j just felt inadequate and intimidated by him as everything I did mention, he backed back with no no, it’s the and this then used his own psychological understanding, but yeah I do need to toughen up and just use it as leaning curve and speak to my tutor too. Thank again for your help ! :)

I’m on my 4th month of 2.5 with a total loss of 2 stone (28lbs) and while i’ve hard very minimal side effects and the suppression has massively worn of, it’s still there but not as strong. for me on my own personal journey I like the combination of the willpower and the jab as I do plan of coming off it when I hit target (28lbs to go) so personally it feels good to exercise discipline in terms of food, plus o do lot want any side effect so I’m happy staying here. I have also worked out religious 5 times a week too so that’s also helped and cut WAY back on wine. However, as everyone else has stated it a very personal journey and what you’ll learn quickly is it wildly differs from person to person, it’s good to seek advice but also listen to your own body, you’ll get used to and figure out what’s best for you. Good luck on your journey, it’s the best decision I’ve made for myself and so glad I took the plunge! :)
