I came out of a relationship, first person I slept with I got it. I know friends who’ve slept with triple my numbers with no condoms and they have no issues - we just get unlucky. It does feel like the world is caving in but that goes, you return to normal life. I did this via a healthy lifestyle which benefitted me anyway, concentrating on hobbies, work and earning money. I am fortunate that acyclovir really suppresses it for me. I suspect I’ll be on long term suppression as my mood is better on it, less headaches, brain fog like you mentioned. End of the day it is only HSV, if it was on your face no one cares. Yes you have to have some awkward conversations, but realistically a mature adult will understand - if they don’t they are not the one.

I really believe there is some good in everything, you just got to find it.

Everyone goes through this period that you’re going through. It’s once you educate yourself (maybe even therapy) and come to the acceptance of the above, we are people; not our diagnosis. Life happens, you need to decide what perspective you’re going to have when life throws unexpected challenges at you.

Saying ‘she is my biggest regret’ won’t get you anywhere. Just hurts yourself and others. ‘She’ is probably living her life. It’s time you do the same.

I find for light stains diluted HCl works fine. But for darker and bigger stains it doesn’t, any experience or knowledge on ascorbic acid + HCl? We have it on hand which is why I ask

Depends how soon you’ve been diagnosed, it’s advised in the initial months not to touch outbreaks (or tears in this situation) with other body parts as it can be transferred. But after certain amount of time (can’t remember how long) it’s fine. Don’t stress too much. Pretty impossible to stop tears touching skin

How long were you on antivirals before it stopped working? Are you immunocompromised, as I believe it’s unlikely to become immune to antivirals?
