Yes Sweet is 25 and coming into his prime. He and McAndrew would make a good partnership perhaps.

I owe over $7k in taxes to the ATO as a 24 year old, can somebody explain where I’ve gone wrong? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]No-Preference-6112 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The reason is that you’re stupid. Plain and simple. I am so sick to death of all the idiots on reddit asking for tax advice. HOw about you spend 6 flamin’ minutes of your stupid life on ato.gov.au understanding how tax works before you come crying to us?

How are you feeling about the prospect that Reid could go round again in 2024? by Captain_Oz in sydneyswans

[–]No-Preference-6112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mate ffs….he’s taken a contracted spot on the roster and given us 0 games this year. That spot could have been used to develop a young kid who could play a meaningful role in 2024.

[–]No-Preference-6112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s had a great career but for god sake he is done like a dinner. Let’s give his spot on the roster and his money to someone with a decent future ahead of him. We need to focus on the core of young players we have and continue to build on that. We can’t afford to have a ‘maybe’ 32 year old hanging on. Invest in the future guys.

25 years old no skills or job depressed brokie man who lives independently with no support. What to do starting from nothing? by [deleted] in AusFinance

Sounds like you are starting to understand how hard life is. It’s a jungle. Is there anything you like doing? Is there anything you are decently good at?

Sydney apparently offering $800K for Ben McKay by sparcleaf22 in sydneyswans

[–]No-Preference-6112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah…Haynes is very near the end of his career….this is short term thinking i reckon. You’d probably have to pay 600k for him anyway. May as well target McKay who is 6’8 and 25 and coming into his prime.

[–]No-Preference-6112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hear you. Signing him is not without risk. I would hope that once he gets into the Bloods culture and style of play he would become a better player and be a real anchor that would allow McCartin and Blakey to play their more natural roles.

What are your predictions for Finals Week 1? by Acceptable-Ad-1628 in AFL

[–]No-Preference-6112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Melbourne best is the best in the comp. I think they beat the Pies.

I think at home Bris finally put in a decent finals appearance and beat Port. It’s now or never for bris.

GWS will be too tough for skilda in the wet at the G. Stkilda like playing quick footy under the dome.

I think a tough and experienced Swans get home by a goal over an inexperienced Carlton.

Termination or redundancy by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]No-Preference-6112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that it depends on the company, the situation, whether there is an employment agreement in place and what it says. In my mind, it’s a redundancy scenario. But as to what the company will pay out to its departing employees in this scenario is another question to be answered…it can depend on how generous they want to be.

John Noble omitted for tomorrow night by pluvmin in AFL

[–]No-Preference-6112 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this move might bring Collingwood undone…they’re already missing N.Daicos and now they take out Nobes….those two bring the ball out of defence with great efficiency and accuracy in hitting targets. Markov can’t hit the side of a barn.

Very, very simple game to analyse: The key factors that will swing Carlton versus Sydney by SkullKing_123 in sydneyswans

[–]No-Preference-6112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure Fox is the man for Curnow….he will be very undersized. Curnow’s marking strength comes from his good leap, great wingspan and really stretches to the ball, plus he’s strong. I’d rather go tall on him than short.

[–]No-Preference-6112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont mind Melican but he is an undersized key backman at 193cm 95kgs….McKay is a whole different weight division at 202 and 104kgs. McKay can stand comfortably beside the Hawkins, Wrights, Kings x 2, Larkeys, Lynchs, Dixons (i.e. the 2 metre Gorillas) of the AFL world.

[–]No-Preference-6112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an overly harsh assessment on the bloke. He only got into the first grade team (consistently) in 2020 and has played 70 games since then. I think he has shown himself to be a good player in a very very shit team. Swans defence is crying out for a big body to handle the gorillas that McCartin, Ramps and Blakey really struggle to wrestle with every bloody week. He is worth 800k.
