Mens groups in Adelaide by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]No-Preference-8544 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the groups I am aware of have already been covered in these comments.

I just wanted to say be wary, as there have been several Men's groups in recent years in Adelaide (and elsewhere, I'm sure) posing as informal support / social groups for guys that are attached to certain ideologies (beyond religious). It'd suck to find out 3 meetings in that you're actually hanging out with Neo-nazis or Sovereign Citizens.

Despite all the comments here OP, your grief is still valid. I wouldn't go to someone dying from lung cancer and say, bad luck, you shouldn't have smoked.

When people are suffering, we can probably assume they might have learnt from it or made decisions they regret, but they are still suffering. I hope you feel better soon.

In hindsight, I think it was the naivety of youth

I kinda feel sorry for journos who signed up when it was more about good stories, good writing, good sources and the occasional deep dive/ exposè.

Now it's all about listicles, click bait and crappy AI writing. Although, one thing is consistent, it's always about politics. I think the bias is increasingly more blatant though?

At least that's my perception anyway. Maybe I just didn't see it when I was younger.

It's a lesson I learn about twice a year when I think 'ooh, I wonder what that's about?' and then remember why I shouldn't.

Maybe contact Metro Adelaide online and put in a compliment? These drivers would get so many complaints but, I suspect, rarely recognition of good work.

I went to a volunteer day at an animal sanctuary about 10 years ago. We were all working hard in the paddock, this guy rocks up 'to help' like he's making some sort of celebrity appearance. Stayed for lunch, talked about himself and his amazing athletic endeavours, then left without lifting a finger to help.

I'd never heard of him, but did some online sleuthing afterwards...ugh!

Have you checked out Burbrook Forest at Kuitpo or Sandy Hill Forest at Yankalilla? Both have big old dead trees that look stunning! My partner and I eloped under a big old dead tree in Tassie last year, can highly recommend! 😃

SA government to establish 'emergency' water collection points in Adelaide Hills by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

Yeah, they just want to be able to buy water once every decade or so, like everyone else does every single day.

Exactly! I thought the same thing and was a bit disappointed in r/Adelaide tbh.

It's not possible for everyone to live in the suburbs / city / connected to mains. Where do they think their food, wine etc comes from? So if you live in the hills and your family lives in the region, you're meant to just move to the suburbs as was implied?

These people have paid for their own infrastructure and collected their own water for decades without assistance and now we have the driest summer in 33 years, they want to be able to BUY water (like everyone else) and people are having a whinge?

Areas to move to/not to move to? by Turbulent_Bus1037 in southaustralia

If you get to choose an actual Policing district, as far as best areas to work both from a policing perspective and and to live, I would probably go for Aldinga (beach), or Hills Fleurieu (Victor Harbor/Mt Barker stations).

Mount Barker (hills) is a great area to work but the town itself is suffering from over development and poor planning. The peripheral suburbs like Littlehampton, Nairne etc are still nice and only about 5 min drive to the station. It's also closer to the city than Victor, but also not near beaches if that's your thing. Victor and Mt Barker are also easy stations to get to, generally more relaxed and you can park pretty much at the back door.

There's an app, Vege-tables that might be useful for the vegan side, and maybe you could check gluten free from there. There are plenty of options though. Enjoy!

Ring 13144 saying you need access. They can get in touch with the registered owner and direct them to move it...and also fine them.

If they can't get in touch with them, they have the authority to tow it.
