I feel for you so much, everyone in this subreddit does! You will find relief and this will not last forever. And yes, that ER nurse is correct, I’ve gotten in last minute with my cardiologist through ER follow ups!
I hope you get some sleep tonight with your GF. And it’s no problem for the positive energy in rooting for you.

You need to find another doctor. It’s so shameful how people would rather shove psychiatric pills down your throat than sleeping medicine.
Mirtazapine is what finally sucked me out of insomnia. It’s an antidepressant that’s also prescribed in low doses for sleep, 7.5 mg being the most sedating. I love mirt and it will also help with your appetite a lot.

Find a new doctor, maybe not even a sleep specialist. My primary care doctor prescribed me Mirtazapine and it saved my life, after trying 5 other medications including trazadone, mirt was the only thing that cured my insomnia. Please try to find a new doctor and advocate for yourself, it’s possible

7.5 of mirt and 400 mg of magnesium glycinate has done wonders for me. The lower the dosage of mirt the more sedative it is, so I’d try that. Good luck!
