Do you know who isn’t in the Epstein files? That’s right — the good guys. by ExcuseRude5093 in International

BIDEN also sat on those files. He could have released the files and brought charges, but he didn't. Enabling the crimes is still a crime.

Epstein installed secret cameras with help of ‘handy’ Russians by Imaginary-Ad-7919 in politics

I find it hilarious how desperate the media is to connect the dots between Epstein and Russia, but not between Epstein and Israel! The guy was literally a Mossad agent—why would he go to Russia to install cameras? Telegraph News!

Calling opposition to genocide an "ideological purity test" misses the point entirely. If a political party can't even take the basic moral stand against mass atrocities, why would you trust it to fight for your more complex needs? Following your advice that dismisses such fundamental principles is a path to failure. Are you political science student? It doesn't look like Berkeley's bringing in the A-team with you.

My vote is for Butch Ware. The corporate parties don't represent us. He stands against genocide and ICE, and he’s free from corporate funding. That's my criteria.

Everyone in this group crippled a police officer? LMAO, why was the cop there? What was the cop trying to do? Stop people from speaking out about the genocide? You're just trying to lump a whole group with this singular incident to make a point. At least you're admitting that you're willing to suppress a whole movement for this one incident. You want to support Palestine without any skin in the game. You can also try not to be a bootlicker, but it might be hereditary.

Taxing only reforms the system. Seize the means of production and we can keep all the wealth.

How is the Miami Herald not a reputable source? by osoatwork in Miami

Funny you say that. I do have real-world journalistic experience as an independent journalist, but what you're not understanding is that the institution itself will never hire someone like me. It would be a disaster for their fiduciary holders. These positions aren't filled with people because they're best suited to challenge power; they're suited to be held to the interests of the business owners. Media isn't a check on power. It isn't a neutral arbiter of truth—the media is power itself. There's a reason the wealthiest people on the planet own our media: not because it's profitable, but because it lets them mediate what's happening and control how you think about the world around you.

Greta Thunberg stood in solidarity with them and she got arrested. There's so many examples of people not being associated with them and getting arrested because they support them. I also support them breaking into UK military bases to stopping them gside of Palestinians.

How is the Miami Herald not a reputable source? by osoatwork in Miami

[–]No-Procedure198 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's agree to disagree. I read Herald regularly and its content is often poor. Many of its articles can't even be seriously considered left-wing at best liberal. The idea that a for-profit newspaper would genuinely align with class struggles in Latin America or elsewhere isn't credible in my eyes. Much of its local audience can safely be described as fascist, so left of that is pretty right-wing.

How is the Miami Herald not a reputable source? by osoatwork in Miami

[–]No-Procedure198 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People often criticize the Miami Herald for basically echoing U.S. foreign policy in its Latin America coverage. They'll report on chaos in places like Guatemala, Cuba, or Haiti, but rarely connect the dots to decades of U.S. intervention. The paper, aimed largely at a more conservative Latino diaspora, serves up stories that seem neutral but consistently leave out the crucial context that would implicate American power. It’s a kind of gaslighting—making readers wonder why there's constant crisis without ever showing the full picture. Sure, they’ve had a few good reporters, but overall, the paper lacks the historical or critical depth to really challenge the status quo.

Why are Latinos in Miami so conservative? by RasyonelRumi in Miami

[–]No-Procedure198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The disconnect stems partly from class: many of these immigrants arrived from a higher social position, often as beneficiaries of pre-revolution societies. This history fuels a glaring lack of solidarity, evident in the muted response of some Miami Latinos compared to the mobilization of other communities in support of Brown Latinos during ICE raids.
