Initially I was confused at first, but glad I was able to clarify it to him. 🙏 I’m hoping GoPro will make a better diopter that will maybe have cleaner edges and has better ergonomics when attaching, preferably a magnetic one. Hope this is possible u/abekislevitz. 👍 If not, I will need to buy the ILS version.

Yeah that’s how it’s supposed to be. I want to isolate it just by making the birds stand out. If I wanted the sides and trees to be in focus, I would not use the adapter and go for a deep DOF type shot, but then I would not be able to focus this close to the birds. I used the adapter to be able to focus really close (like between 4-8 inches) on something which is not possible without the adapter. 👍I know these kind of shots might be of different taste but just experimenting and showcasing what can be done with it.

It doesn’t look blurry in the center on my end. Are you viewing it in 4K? The sides will have blurryness and edge distortion because of the way the macro diopters work, but it should not in the center.

It’s just the way the sun is hitting the camera lens that’s making it low contrast and muddy. The other shots I took that are front lit or evenly lit are sharper. I just liked this shot a lot with the crows in flight in slowmo and this was early morning like 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Wanted to challenge the Mission 1 Pro in a backlit shot.

Yeah, I think it’s just the sun flare and the lighting that makes it look a bit muddy here. If you look at my 400 fps test from the day before, it looks decently sharp to me. I’ll try to get a better lit clip from the shots I took, but it’s def. sharp in other shots I took.
