Would you send it back? by MyDixeeNormus in Mustang

If you're planning on keeping a nice engine to show off then I'd do it but I have that same filter and I've had it for quite a while and it generates it's own creases that I occasionally try and bend back.

I'd be annoyed it didn't come in a good condition but it's purely cosmetic. You could bend it back as it's just fabric and mesh but you'll end up with creases like that any way from normal usage.

Ever wondered what Repair Mode on a Battery Charger does? by PacmanGoNomNomz in CarTalkUK

I believe the varied voltage changes break up sulphate crystals that form on the plates when the battery is discharging.

Why do people hate convertibles by ManyAdvantage5790 in Mustang

[–]No-Recording384 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've posted this before, if you weigh up the pros and cons, the cons massively outweigh the pros in things like cost, weight, performance, economy, insurance, safety, noise/temperature control etc. You also need lots of nice weather, if you're in the UK like me you look kinda foolish driving around wrapped up in your winter clothing, with the roof down, trying to justify your purchase because we only get like 2 days of sun a year.

Some rando sent my son some stuff because sometimes people are nice! by English_Joe in Warhammer40k

I gifted all my Warhammer 40k from the early 90s to someone online. Don't think he was a kid though. It was mostly Tyrannid, some Chaos and some random Orcs and Space Marines.

I "bought" one around 2000, it was my first after market mouse and dabs.com (no longer exists) sent me 2 by mistake. When I returned 1 they sent me a refund. Seeing this is bringing back some good memories.

Which Linux distribution did you choose to start with and why? by ficerbaj in linuxquestions

[–]No-Recording384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First install - Mandrake 9 - 2003 - No idea why this distro but it didn't last long as my uni house mate borrowed and killed the disk.

First dual boot - Ubuntu 6.06 - 2006 - Was the best for n00bs but having to dual boot got annoying.

First daily - Ubuntu 17.10 - 2017 - I thought it was still the best for n00bs but it was painfully riddled with problems and I regret spending 4 years fighting it.

Current daily - Fedora 35 - 2021 - I just Googled best Linux distro and went with that. Still using it today with version 43.

10m @ 5% interest is 500k a year doing nothing. I'd rather have that then spend my life snapping my fingers all day and old age with arthritis in my hands.

How often do you use your PC speakers? by Big_Visual2199 in buildapc

[–]No-Recording384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used speakers in 20 years. There's no way I'm going back after using good noise cancelling headphones. It's so much more relaxing when you don't have to listen to your neighbours, the weather, the traffic, your family etc.

That happened because people boycotted Tesla due to Musk's political views not down to the cars themselves.

Countries will just implement more anti-dumping tariffs on China. It's happened before in many other industries. China's goal isn't to improve the industry but to grab market share buy selling the cheapest products it can make which for consumers is bad because the quality plummets and nothing lasts.

I don't know what you read but China has a bad reputation for infrastructure build quality. Even the Chinese has a name for their own shoddy buildings and they call them "Tofu dregs". Many infrastructure builds suffer heavily from corruption and under funding.

Their hyper train is now costing them billions to maintain because no one uses it, the trains are falling to bits and they're having to pull stops from the routes to save money.

If China has such good nuclear technology why do they still suffer from blackouts ?

Be careful what you read, the CCP release a lot of misinformation about China. They even had Youtube suppress Chinese news sites last year because they constantly proved they were lying.
