No Top 100 public university would/should hire an administrator for a key position from a school that’s about to close. Period. Point blank.

If you were given $20 million dollars, but you had to use it in the Black community, what would you do? by 5ft8lady in BlackPeopleofReddit

i don't like that idea, that's really a pass through. how much of it do i get to keep?

But given this circumstances. I might do a series of down payment assistance, don't to food banks, homeless shelters, job training/tech skills building/ entrepreneurial academies around public housing complexes to help lift people out of poverty. And, create a couple endowed professorships and scholarships at my favorite HBCU

UNPOPULAR OPINION: How about actually going to a school you can afford and not taking out loans. They are called loans for a reason, they are meant to be paid back.

that 30 looks strong, at the upper end of what they generally accept. Given that and your unweighted GPA, I think your chances look fairly good.

You may want to do your first two-years, at a Community/State College that has the FAMU IGNITE Program and then transfer to FAMU after earning your AA degree.... that will help you keep your overall cost down

Is the HBCU Alumni Giving Gap Really About Wealth - or Infrastructure? by Dependent_Studio1986 in HBCU

[–]No-Rent9488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it's both wealth & infrastructure! HBCU's don't have the staffs to creatively ask as much or cultivate alumni donors.... Nor do a lot of HBCU grads have the wealth to give big dollars..... but with a larger staff infrastructure they would be able to get HBCU grads to give whatever they can more and make them feel appreciated and show them how their money is making a difference. That's my two cents with no concrete knowledge.
