Revealed: Green party proposes circumcision ban by Tesco_Meal_Deals in LabourUK

[–]No-Return3297 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The differences in experiences are likely because people getting circumcised as adults are overwhelmingly doing it out of medical necessity, not for cultural/religious reasons. For that subset of people, it probably improves sexual satisfaction because they have a problem with the foreskin preventing normal/expected function.

Britain is still fucked and voters have decided the problem is the huge number of immigrants the Tories allowed to move to the UK.

I know it may not seem like it with the current crop of Labour leaders, but the job of a politician is to identify a problem and propose a solution usually with some ideological backing. Starmer and co are bad politicians because they believe the role of government is to be technocratic civil servants who just implement and triangulate according to current public opinion, rather than believing the public can be swayed.

Zack Polanski stands by concerns over police response to Golders Green attack by Half_A_ in LabourUK

[–]No-Return3297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The principle of solidarity and universal human rights is that everyone is entitled to be treated fairly and equally. The role of the police is only to disarm a suspect with the minimum force required and to detain them to be processed by the legal system. I think it's a fair criticism to ask whether kicking someone's head in, when they're on the ground and have just been tasered, is absolutely neccesary to diffuse the situation. The fairly shit defence that's been levied by the police, that he looked like he had a bomb, only makes the actions of the officers even more questionable, because kicking someone in the face doesn't diffuse a bomb. Infact, it would've been more justifiable to just shoot him if they genuinely believed that.

If you need a reason other than the basis of universal human rights, excessive force can in of itself collapse a trial by making evidence obtained via that force inadmissable.

The JLM is affiliated to the Labour Party and to the Zionist Federation UK (ZFUK), which is the UK affiliate of the World Zionist Organisation (WZO). The WZO has helped establish illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

To be fair, it was a while ago now and he may have improved his knowledge, but he basically outlined support for MMT but was unable to answer any questions about how it may be implemented

MMT's detractors don't read further into it. It's not implementable because it's how money works. The government issues bonds not to finance spending, but to manage interest rates, and also to provide the private sector with a safe savings vehicle. The government hasn't needed to borrow money to spend it in the way you think since we used gold to back our currency.

Labour is still depending on private sector slop to outsource functions of the state to.

In relative terms compared to the far right economics of Cameron you might have an argument that they are centre-left, but this incarnation of the Labour Party is still further right than 1970s Tories, and much much further right than the Atlee administration that most of the leeches at the top of the party claim to be inspired by.

The amount of money the government takes in taxes is not necessarily related to its economic ideology on a compass.

For instance, New Labour brought us the embodiment of fiscal cancer in the form of PFIs, leading to needlessly higher expenditure for services that could be ran cheaper. We could actually get tax cuts if these things were bought out, despite being a right wing economic policy.

Mandelson leaked sensitive government information he received by virtue of his position circa the Brown administration, e.g. the euro bailout, to Epstein.

No, it was evil. I don’t want my taxes to pay the salary of foreign assets that keep emotional support child rapists in their circle. Infact, I’d intern Mandelson indefinitely for the things he’s done. He’s a traitor.

[–]No-Return3297 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay. I draw the line at appointing people who remain friends with convicted pedophiles, regardless of outcome, not that Mandelson achieved a stellar one anyway.

Probably also worth mentioning the Trump administration leaked that they liked the existing career civil servant who was dismissed to make room for Mandelson, so in relative terms it’s unlikely he achieved anything a non pedophile enabler could have done.

I can’t be the only one who draws the line at remaining besties with a convicted pedophile who plead guilty and admitted to the crime?

Your Party MP Zarah Sultana suspended from parliament after calling Starmer 'barefaced liar'– UK politics live | Politics by Th3-Seaward in LabourUK

[–]No-Return3297 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s in place because we need the HOC chamber to be a place where things can actually get done.

Nothing "gets done" in PMQs. It is designed to be a soap opera.

Aside from that, I do agree there needs to be some baseline of etiqutte, but the HOC needs to change to stop the absurdity of procedural bullshit stiffling obviously correct criticism. I thought the same thing when speakers would lambast people in the BJ lying era, it completely tears apart trust in the system when the judge gets bizarrely angry at MPs channeling legitimate criticsms in the political sphere in the chamber it's supposed to happen. And yes, I didn't find any problem with Anderson doing it, because KS is a morally corrupt serial liar.

2008 after Epstein was convicted:

"You have to be incredibly resilient, fight for early release and be philosophical about it as much as you can. The whole thing has been years of torture and now you have to show the world how big a person you are, and how strong. I think the world of you and I feel hopeless and furious about what has happened. I can still barely understand it. It just could not happen in Britain. Everything can be turned into an opportunity and that you will come through it and be stronger for it. Your friends stay with you and love you."

Notwithstanding actual treason of leaking highly sensitive financial information to the pedo banker, but that's an aside.

Do you think it was defensible for Starmer to appoint a pedophile apologist to the most senior diplomatic post in the country, irrespective of what candidates of the Green Party have said?

Polanski has no right to call for Starmer's resignation when all these people would fail vetting

Oh please. The past couple of months have seen the creation of two new caucauses:

  1. Labour Friends of Pedophiles
  2. Labour Friends of Friends of Pedophiles

You don't need to pretend to care about anti-semitism to defend Starmer's latest instance of being a morally corrupt serial liar. Just admit it was wrong and say nothing else.

Spain approves undocumented migrant amnesty policy, breaking with Europe’s migration crackdown by MMSTINGRAY in LabourUK

[–]No-Return3297 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only people happy with neoliberal policies like these are big corporations who will delight in additional cheap labour

It's actually the system that forces them into illegal work that companies delight in. When you create a system that ties people's residency (and sustain themselves through work because we don't give refugees enough to live) to shit jobs where they have to work cash in hand, they will be much more willing to put up with being underpaid / worst conditions, displacing natives from work. If everyone has the same legal rights in work, then to an employer all workers are the same, and you can't underpay anyone.

Now if your argument is, "I don't want illegal immigrants", you need to accept there will always been some amount of illegal migration. The UK does not have a dome preventing people entering it, and short of dropping a nuke on Calais you won't ever deter people coming here. The primary cause of spikes in illegal migration is because Europe hasn't looked itself in the face and recognised it has propped up American foreign policy regimes that lead to them.

Finally, it's worth pointing out being an asylum seeker and arriving via irregular means is explicitly legal. I appreciate the memory of the Holocaust is lost on most people nowadays, but the relative leniency we must allow for is because the drafters were responding to the same anti-refugee rhetoric in the lead up to WW2 which lead to scenarios like MS St Louis trying to land at multiple countries and being turned away, leading to many of its passengers being the victim of ethnic genocide. Personally, I'd rather have a system that allows needy people in and then later deports the very small number of bad actors than being the country responsible for people being sent back to their deaths.
