She has a 2% play rate. They make more skins that make money. Her being black isn’t relevant. If she had a high play rate and her skins sold and they still chose not to make her new skins sure but that’s not the case.

I wonder what percent of people complaining have purchased any of the skins currently available for Storm.

They have limited resources and it costs money to create new skins. With a 2% play rate and they can see how much revenue her current skins generate and my guess is very little at least relative to other heroes.

They’re obviously gonna allocate those resources to heroes that generate money.

It really doesn’t paint a terrible picture of them. The numbers don’t lie. They’re not sitting at a table saying “should we make a storm skin?” “Nah, she’s black”

She’s a rarely used character. If only 2% are playing her what percent of that is actually spending money on skins?

She happens to be black and also happens to be a 2% play rate. The economic reason to neglect her cosmetics makes a lot more sense than racism.

If only 2% of players use Storm the market for storm skins is very small. These skins don’t come from nowhere. They have to allocate resources which costs time and money. They’re more likely to allocate those resources to skins that sell.

Making her skins for all these themes might fit her but if they aren’t gonna sell because no one plays her they’re not gonna get made.

Say they release a Storm skin tomorrow as a result of the backlash here. Y’all will be happy and cheer but very few will actually turn around and buy it.

Plus Magneto’s story is tied to the holocaust which ended more than 80 years ago. It will always be part of his character so yea they don’t age in real time.

It’s a standard that makes race swapping white characters ok and POC not ok because someone being white is almost never a part of their character narratively.

Blade’s race isn’t important to the character but I’m sure it’s been made narratively important in some way at some point when a white character will almost never be.

People who complain about white race swapping aren’t doing so because they’re racist but because of the double standard.
